Well my enderle fuel injection set up finally got in from the us. This is why i didnt do much on the engine bay.

Had to do a dummy fit first.

This is the 80A pump i had to give the drive gear to a mate to machine it to fit inside my gilmore pully on the crank.
Posted Image

I unbolted the manifold and measure and marked where i was gonna drill the holes for the jets.
Posted Image

Then drilled the 6 holes and tapped them with an 1/8 npt tap.
Posted Image

Then i fitted all the nozzles and hoses. This kit is for a small block chev so it has 8 lines luckly 6 had 90 degree fittings and 2 had straight jic fittings so all i did was remove 2 of the longer hoses from the block and plug the holes and got 2 joiners and joined them to the 2 straight hoses so they would reach number 1 and 2 cylinders.

Looks pretty sexual if i dont say so myself.

Oh by the way anyone out there with a uc with a 6 in it could you do me a favour somehow measure the height between the carby mounting on the inlet manifold to the bonnet i need to know how low i need to make my intake tubing over the throttle body. Cheers.

Can't help you with the standard carby height question. What if you just take a measurement with a tape measure from the cross member engine mount to the bonnet and then take the same measurement with your engine?

Your not shy at throwing some money at this project. I'm very interested to see how it all comes together.

Nice job mate.I noticed you have chromed your oil pump outer gear cover.Just a warning but the gears inside wear on the plate and if you dont remove the chrome it flakes off and jams between the gears and usually strips the oil pump gear. I have seen this happen a few times!

Well this is what ive done with the bonnet and before anyone asks why i have a hornet scoop in the middle ill explain. Its there im gonna run the intake from so i have cold air for the engine. I wanted the smooth look like what dirtbag did so i made carbord templates.

Posted Image
Posted Image

Then cut out the peices and welded them in
Posted Image
Posted Image

Then i smoothed it with bog
Posted Image

I havent primed it yet but will do it when the gaurds, flares and stonegaurd are ready.

Well thought id post the pics of what i got my recyled metal from.

A before shot.
Posted Image

After shot you can see why i used the roof metal.

Wow, thats an awful lot of engine to be attached to a totally useless supercharger....

Have you done the maths?? You will probably find you will make more power without the SC-14 attached....

Apart from that, looks wiked mate.

Cheers.

Looks like alot of fun, definably interesting. The intake setup looks pretty fancy. :spoton:

I like what you have done with the falcon above too.

The LH/LX bonnets don't clear the wiper motor if you weld up all the holes. Just thought I would mention that

hi Jason,

I had not seen your thread before but am intreaged at your idea of injection on the 4bbl mani i wonder if that would fix the inherent fuel distribution problems ive seen with the manis like that. i take it from those pics u are using a 9 port head?

is it a strip only car its going in i take it your running it on alcohol?.

Cheers hayden

Yeah right now its got a yella terra 9 port on it but looking into a yella terra alloy 12 port or j zed head for it. Got a price on a j zed head was $4450 plus gst and about $3000 for the yella terra one so wanna do a bit more research first.

Well its gonna be mainly for strip but the fuel system is gonna run on both just so nothing goes rusty from the methonal and so i can still drive it on special occasions (like my mates wedding next year if its finished in time). Im probally gonna run a fuel cell in the boot for unleaded and a small tank in the engine bay for the methonal and all i gotta do is swap some lines over when i wanna switch fuels.

Nice Project. I'd have to agree with the supercharger being too small. They were made for a 4cyl engine. I'd say go with a centrifugal supercharger. Like a Vortech V9 or something like that. I know its a whole lot more cash but I think the benefits would out way the cost.

I've been toying with the idea of a little tiny Vortec to....

Way better way to go.

May need a slight re tune when swapping from Petrol to Methanol.

That injection system is very interesting though.

Cheers.

Im just gonna run the sc14 first then turbo it if its not enough ill do a j pipe turbo set up.

As for tuning when changing fuel all i need to do is change the nozzle tips ill take some more pics of it when i get home and i got a msd digital 6 ignition and retarder dial so i can change the timing easy.

Yep i was running a digi six, great little box.

Havnt run boost in that particular car yet so no playing with retarders yet....

I was looking at one of the Digital Multi Step Retards...

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers.
