Well i havent done much for a while been at work then busy with other stuff while ive been home but i managed to get the belt drive sorted. Still gotta make the pump mounting and get a shorter belt.

I got the high speed bleed off valve and the 3 way shut off valve for it now.

I sanded the front fenders and wiper cover back to bare metal as well that took ages there was origanal primer and paint then another coat of primer and paint on top of that.

Jason,
what sort of block filler did you use?

yeah after being involved in my mates hr from the grenade thread they seem the way to go. it has home machined cast slugs aswell and seems ok.

Cheers Hayden

Interested to know this also, I saw the pic of this before i read the description, and i though why would someone put concrete inside a engine ? (ha-ha)

This thread shows you have many different skills, looks like it will be quite a flash looking race car !

Nice work :clappin:

I used Moroso engine block filler only cost me $35 for the jug and i still got a little left. It just looked like normal cement to me but must be different. By the way anyone want a set of acl race series flat tops .060 os on weight matched red rods? Also a sc14 with gilmore pully?

how did you go about filling it? is it just a matter of pouring it in and letting it settle? i would like to do mine myself if its that simple. thought there may have been more to it.

Well it says to pour it down the water jackets but you need a pretty small funnel for that and to make it reach all over it would have to be really runny but the more water you use the weaker it becomes. So what i did was held it up on an engine crain with a leveler tilted it back a fair bit filled the front from the water pump hole. Then tilted it back did the same throught the core plug hole in the rear. Then used a tip from a silicone tube on a small funnel to get it into the middle 4 holes i worked out roughly how much they needed poured it into the funnel then used a peice of wire to push it down. Once its in it says to use an air chisel with a blunt tool in it or dead blow hammer and hit the block around where you have filled to get the air bubbles out and so it can settle.

Well havent really done much lately but i did get all my gauges so today started on the new gauge cluster.

Had to rip the old face out.
Posted Image

Sat the speedo and tacho in and thats all i got round to today.

Still gotta fit the oil pressure, water temp, fuel level and boost gauges in there and make a new face for it.

Well its been a nearly two year since i worked on my torana and alot has happened since then. Bought a house, bought vk group 3 replica, crashed the vk, rebuilt the vk and got engaged. So time and money have been spent on other things and the poor old uc was left sitting there waiting at my mum and dads. I now have moved it into my shed and started striping it all again, I handed the plates in as it is now going to be just for drags. Still keeping the 202 but going with a 6/71 on it and powerglide behind it. Some major body work is about to begin, ive cut the boot floor pan out and will start tubing it as soon as i finish my rotisery. The front inner gaurds have been chopped out now and the chassis at the front will be getting strengthened. Ive done away with the bolt in cage and will be fitting a full weld in cage and chassis rail extensions. Will most likely remove the original floor pans and replace them with thinner lighter metal anything to reduce weight. Will post up some photos soon.
