I wasn't claiming that it wasn't a GM motor, Holden is pretty much as GM as Buick is. I was just saying that smallblock chevs sound like shit comparatively :)

Don't the 351s have a oil starvation problem because the oil pickup is at the front of the motor? I assume this is readily fixed with bolt ons...

i was talking personal experience in my thread as i have run those engines. Not standing on the side of the road listening to them.

Heath, there must be some shitty exhaust shops around your way if you havnt heard a sweet sounding s/b chevy yet.

the only problem i had with s/b chevys is that there a bit dirty (oil leaks)

I like both - my cousin has a 351 GT replica & that thing sounds awesome even at 1/4 throttle. then again i love the sounds of a hot holden 6 near redline or a 308/355 with twin pipes winding up

Cant stand people who are completely one-eyed and they just base their opinion on hearsay or myth

I like Holden V8's because they are simple, and they are Australian! I personally think a holden motor is the best sounding motor, even in stock form it sounds good!

Scottya are you asking because you wanted to put a Ford motor in a Torana and people questioned why?? (Sorry if that wasn't you)

I am a Holden man through and through simply because growing up you had to choose a side and I chose Holden.

However, I love old cars, don't care what they are....but if I had to choose, it would be Holden....

I'm a fence sitter personally, owned 2 5ltr LH Torana's and used to work for Ford..yea i always get shit about it on race day :P but some of the fastest cars i've driven and been in have been ford powered V8's..i think a 351 clevo at full song with a nice set of pipes is kinda a nice sound..when i build my next LH/X though its getting a Chev, but scottya i really like what you've done with your car mate.

No thats not why asked the question.

I asked because i read on other forums, and the same ol pathetic arguments turns up, Ford this Holden that etc etc.

Yes i did put a clevo in the torana, no it doesnt bother me people questioning me why.

Was just putting the big " Q " out there.

The funniest part about putting the clevo in the torana is that i have had alot more positve than negative comments.
