A9X,
Would you happen to know if the Brown Davis tanks for lh/x 4 doors are made to the correct dimensions?
In shopping around I've noticed that some fabricators are making them too wide, and sometimes to narrow...

I can say i have had 3 Brown Davis Tanks in the past and until last weekend, ran a BD tank for almost 5 years now on my Targa Racecar.
They are an easy afternoon job, fit very well and the finish is excellent.
Many Torana's on this forum wear them.
If i have one complaint it is that i think they are a bit thin in the sheetmetal. Yet i have not known a failure.
Best i mention too that they are the strapless type. I do know that somepeople prefer the strapped look.
But there is no accounting for taste, !
BD are the classic Torana tank.
Good luck

1. You have to cut off the rear factory tank strap mounts.
2. Exhaust clearance is very limited which will probably require new tailpipes.
3. The fuel tank does not fit within the departure angle (rear enry angle). This makes the tank illegal in some states. WA is one of them.
i had a engineer inspection 2day brown davis drop tank fail
The NCOP does not allow exhaust to be used as part of the departure angle. The NSW rules allow the engineer to consider the exhaust as part of the departure angle.

He told me once the only difference he has made for the street cars is he has given them more clearance, so they are slightly smaller in capacity.

Thanks for the help and pic, looks shit hot.
I know the build & internals of the BD tanks are top notch, however hadn't seen one of them on a car.
I think i've made my decision
