Wouldnt the perspex be affected by the heat of the engine?

I think it will either look awesome or tacky, be something different though.

There are plastic A9X scoops available, and the heat doesn't seem to effect them too noticeably. And I agree it would either look cool or really tacky depending on the execution.

If its a full showy engine bay then its an awesome idea, but for a standard dunger looking engine its not really worth it! haha.

8 Trumpets or stacks coming out of the bonnet would be cool

This might cause you an issue
Infact... its an issue for the odd person running an A9X scoop too as they technically don't conform to the rules if the carb/aircleaner sticks above the bonnet line even if covered by the scoop

they are the most ridiculous set of rules ive ever read in my life!
Not if you are a pedestrian hitting your head on a sharp pointy bit of carby or air filter or supercharger ..........

i think that would be the last thing on your mind lol
HHHMMM lets see be hit by an LJ torrie with 67-1 poke N spinnin "with lots a bitey things when turning" outa whats left of the bonnet, or a standard bonnet with a fibreglass/plastic a9x bonnet scoop... FAIRLY SIMPLE REALLY...

Hey i just thinking of an idea and just wont to ask if any 1 would know but i wont to put a perspeck clear cover on the top of my bonnet scoope so u can see the engine does any know if that would pass reg and pits
Don't know about the legalities but the latest Corvette ZR1 has a perspex cover above the engine.

Who is going to send an A9X scoop to china so they can punch our 500 scoops in mild steel for $9.97 ea...they'll corner the market.
I was talking to a fellow here yesterday who has an HQ Monaro and he just tried to register it with an A9X type fibreglass scoop and he was told he had to get one made of steel the same gauge as the bonnet itself because the HQ never came out with a scoop. Anyway the long and the short of it is he went and had one fabricated here in Canberra - schmick job and it cost him - wait for it $1300.00 Not entirely sure if the bonnet hinges will take the added weight!!!

OK,
Adam ( LJ383) and I were discussing Metal Bonnet Scoops, and I found this:-
http://www.boostcrui...st&p=1288106132
Then Adam said, they are made in the USA here:-
http://www.summitrac...rts/gmk-scoop03
also will cost $377 to land here from there.
So what do we all think about Steel Bonnet Scoops now, and does anybody make them in WA.
on another note, these steel ones will weigh about 8kg's.
