At the moment, my torana is riding pretty high (pics: front, back), and feels like a boat whenever i corner at anything more than moderate speed.
I want to invest in some lower, stiffer springs (and new shocks to suit) but i have no idea what sort of money this will cost - so i figured rather than walking into a store and seeming like a dumbass i'd ask here instead . I'm not planning on doing anything more than the occasional bit of spirited street driving, so it doesn't need to be anything high end.
Also, would it be wiser to get new rims/tyres before i got new suspension? I'm guessing i might have issues with rubbing if i go to a higher width rim and the car is lowered
cheers.
New suspension for my UC

Allow $600 - $700 for 4 new springs and shockers. Lower it before you buy the new wheels and tyres.

Probably best to get the new suspension, then if you wanna change wheels do it after and then you can make sure it's all compatible. I can't really see any issues with rubbing unless you go wildly low...

Kings rear KHRL - 12 lowered $164.34
Kings front KHFL - 14 lowered $164.34
(These are LX V 8 springs - just in case they are differnet to UC 6)
Gas GT Premium (Munros I think) $133
Gas GT Premium $108
At Repco total cost $570.75 on 10/09/04

You may find V8 springs are too stiff for a 6. Personal prefferences may nullify my opinion.

I have V8 springs in my UC, nice and stiff but comfortable enough for daily driving. I just drove to brisbane and back (from Townsville) and the ride was comfortable enough for my girlfriend to sleep most of the way on the shitty north queensland roads at 125km/h average speed...
If you want your UC to take corners without much body roll, these are the ones you want. Mine's firm as.....
