Well Korea was a crazy round. Terrible when Webber crashed out, but fantastic when Vettel bombed out!!

Still a real shame that Alonso has taken the lead. Webber seems to have lost his winning form lately, he's just not quite there at the moment. Next round is make or break. Either way, all the signs are there to say the championship will be decided in the last round. Nervous times ahead, I can't bare to watch!!

I can't help but think how much that one slipup may have cost Mark.

In an ideal world, if he hadn't spun he would have won the race, and would now have an almost insurmountable lead.

But that's motor racing.

I just hope he shows some aussie spirit and fights till the end.

Alonso won't make any mistakes.

Forgot to mention I cheered when Vettel turned on the smoke screen and stood up and abused him and called him names and gave him the finger Posted Image

I really don't like him anymore.

Ok, final round this weekend.

We need Webber to win and Alonso to finish 3rd or worse.

If Vettel is in front, we need Webber in second and Alonso between 3rd and fifth but not too close to Mark so TReNT feels obliged to let him past.

Ideally we want Webber on Pole, TReNT and Alonso take each other out in the first corner and Webber cruises to victory.

The top drivers consistently make their own good luck, sadly this is not the case with Mark and never really has been. Leaves a lot to think about.

He'll(webber) be leading out the first corner if RBR lock out the front row.........
I dont like his chances if he isnt.........There's only 1 car capable of staying in front of alonso(which webber needs if he wins) and thats vettel....

But Alonso cant race all day, his last engine is a dodgy one(he cant afford a 10 spot penalty for a new engine)In fact alonso will be placing his fate amongst the gods if he doesnt make the front row in Qualifying!

This is so dramatic....feel as if there's one big twist to come (possibly played out in the courts like the 1987 james hardie 1000)

agree its been a great year to watch the f1's,

Fingers crossed for the lad from queanbeyan. Im realy looking forward to the race. It would be fantastic to see an aussie get up when there is a real depth of good drivers contesting the championship; Alonso, Hamilton, Vettel, Webber, Button.

Fingers also crossed for stoner on his new repsol next year. Got to admire a guy in that sort of position who enjoys getting away camping and fishing.

Oi, get the bikes out of the Formula 1 thread, I wanna talk about Webber and how he's going to (hopefully) pull of a WDC this weekend!! ;)

It's going to be veeery interesting. If Alonso is lower than third and Vettel wins, Vettel wins the WDC. If Alonso is third or lower and Webber wins, Webber wins the WDC. If Alonso is on the podium, and Webber doesn't win, Alonso gets the title.

Crazy close title race this year, it's been an awesome season. Just such a shame that RBR let Webber and Vettel fight amongst themselves, a bit more focus and they could've had this wrapped up already.

(But yeah, go Stoner)

Webber 5th in qualifying, what a shame he doesn't seem to have the pace.

In one way though, it's taken the pressure off him. He also has a brand new engine. Let's hope for some biffo between Vettel/Alonso... maybe they'll take each other out, and Webber can pull off a Bradbury!

I will definitely be watching the race tonight. Our boy is a huge under-dog and it's not looking promising, but let's just see how things unfold.

He will wonder what if after the last race result...
He is certainly making a drama of it..
If he wins it will be the biggest comeback since Dame Nellie Melba but dont think its going to happen

two races ago, alonso was 14 points down on webber and level with Vettel!
He qualified third behing Vettel and webber,
In a race where everyone was thinking Mark would all but clinch the title, alonso won and his two rivals failed to score a point!
It happens!

just sayin,

So where is Webber going next season, cos I can't see him staying with RBR after the faster car went to the primadona this year (number two driver) and the team stole his championship from him................

Hulkenberg will probably get Webbers spot(he cat get the coin williams require him to bring in sponsorship) being German this will suit Redbull(sister team tororosso is very german, very pro vettel) The 2 torrorosso drivers now (part of the redbull young driver programs) dont really seem up to being in the no 1 team (unless of course redbull want it clear who is no 1 driver)

Massa is a liability at ferrari, not up to that car (as good as the redbull) maybe there's a spot for webber? his manager(webbers) is quite strong in scuderia ferrari.......

If Webber doesnt get a good drive, i think he should retire, i also think the english crowd in redbull will be mighty unhappy with whats transpired (redbull have strong links to jackie stewart racing and Jaguar (tom walkinshaw) based in England before bought out by a german!)

On a side note, two renaults and a tororossa helped Vettel yesterday, webber was slowed down by a torrorosso just enough to keep him behind alonso..........the same torrorosso then stopped massa interfearing with webber, then the two renaults (redbull is powered by renault) ruined alonso's race. Some will say they were fighting for track position and constructors points but 2 years ago a code was taken amongst the f1 fraternity, teams and drivers would let the top end of the field fighting out for championships run there race and they will run theres and not slow em down or get in between!

Bernie Ecclestone was asked what he thought of Webber before the start of the race in Ab Dab. His reply? "He's a Ferrari driver," said Bernie. "I think he's got the character that the Old Man would have liked."

Wonder what he meant by that? :)

Exactly Ben. And with Ferrari, there will be much more support, on and off track.

Toro rosso got cut loose from Red Bull because they were subverting the rules preventing the purchase of complete cars from other teams - but the powers that be [read "wankers"] have turned a blind eye to the three car team (Webber not included) tactics all year........

As said, Webber and Alonso were held up, which is how it has been reported in the media - no one wants to say outright that either of them have been cheated out of a world championship.......

Grant..

Interesting speculation...Webber and Ferrari...I would like to see that..

Bottom line is..Vettel was fastest all year..he deserved to win...sad but true.

I don't get why everyone's speculating on where Webber's going next year - he already signed another 1 year deal to race with RBR in 2011, it happened right around the time of the whole 'Seb broke his new wing so we'll take Mark's new wing and give it to Seb' incident.... and at the time Mark said if he knew that was the way the team was going to treat him, he never would've signed.

I don't think Webber or Alonso were cheated out of a title either, Petrov didn't do anything wrong, he didn't block or baulk Alonso, Alonso just wasn't fast enough. Likewise Webber wasn't fast enough either. Both RBR and Ferrari made a mistake pitting Webber and Alonso when they did, other than driving faster, that's the only thing they could've done differently. And if both Alonso and Webber had pitted under that early safety car, assuming Alonso was still in front of Webber, Webber still couldn't have won the WDC.

Anyway, it's all what-ifs now... bottom line, the RBRs were the best cars all year. So as much as I really wanted Webber to win, and as much as I really don't like Vettel.... he has had raw pace for most of the year and especially the last few races he's had the wood on Mark. So he did earn it.
