Hi All,
I was given a Cain twin carb manifold for red 6, I have a 186 in the garage awaiting the next project - retro hot rod. What carburettors, ideally strombergs (numbers please), should I be looking at?
I have never had twins (or triples for that matter) and would like to just keep an eye out for a pair of appropriate carbs on EEEEbay for example. I realise I will need a set of linkages too.
Is there anything I need to look out for?
Also I HATE those poxy looking 6 inch chrome air cleaners with two pissy little wingnuts that I have seen so many times on twin or triple carbs. Other than an X2 Air cleaner, are there better ideas. I do like the look of the good old black Holden Air cleaner, do two of these fit without issues?
Any ideas, suggestions, insults, pics (not necessarily in that order) will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
RGF
PS - Very proud of myself to articulate (there's a long word) these questions after a 6 pack of Export (it's a WA thing) and 3 quarters of a bottle of Bundaberg!

1st thing to consider would be the stud spacings as stromberg throttle bodies vary in size and stud spacing.
Carbies listed for X2 are:
23-3015 HD-HR X2
23-3016 HD-HR X2
And you have done well on a belly full.
