My old LC had a 4:71 for awhile

I'd recommend it
All it takes is money and a helpful fab shop

I think theres an old blown 6 racecar around here somewhere

i bought my engine off a mate who was running a turbo on it.

Block is a Holden 3.3 that has been o-ringed. i also fitted milodon head studs
Head is a low comp 9 port yella terra with a copper head gasket, Yella Terra roller rockers
Crank is blue motor steel crank
Rods are starfire
Pistons are HQ Racing that have a 19cc dish machined into them
Compression Ratio: 6.8:1
solid cam. unsure of specs but i believe its a turbo grind
Blower: GM 4/71 overdriven 10%
Fabricated sheet metal blower manifold

the manifold was purchaded on ebay. although i think you can still find Newby manifolds. or try fisher superchargers

Fisher holden 6 4/71 manifold

i will also be doing this, bought the blower and injection from trent's (Placid HB) HB project. been looking at manifolds and will probably go with the fisher one, but havent made any calls to find out price or availability. have most of the other bits and pieces, head will be alloy 12 port. sadly mine wont start coming together until i get home at the start of november, oh and its going into my HD sedan

Interesting. I'm toying with the idea of doing a blown 2.8 once the current projects are finished...
One thing that stands out doing the preliminary sums is the need for lots of exhaust capacity ie. very oversized valves, 1-3/4" - 3" pipework...

Thanks Gav73. i am hoping to have the engine running by the end of the year. just need to rebuild the blower and buy a 750 holley blower carb. not cheap! haha.
if the car dips into the high 11s i will be over the moon. fingers crossed.

Not hard to blower reference a carb mate, and not expensive from the states.

Cheers.

There's a possibility - and it's only that, I haven't really thought seriously about this - that the additional strength of the little engine might more than make up for its size by being able to handle more boost and more rpms..

Hey WOT179

Great pic I had my chance to have a steer of a sling shoot and turned it down, I raced a 540bbc HQ ute for a whlie and 800hp on a 9" slick was wild enough my balls arn't made of steel.
Cheers
Gav

Has anyone priced a manifold of Fisher Blowers.

Hi there, i have priced the complete kit from Fishers this week and around $6800 for the 4/71 setup and around $7900 for the custon 5/71 he also does but complete custom and brand new blower so i am assuming manifold to be around the $1000 or more.Hope this helps as i am doing a blown engine and turbo engine aswell at the moment for my drag car and a vey wild JZED headed engine for my XU-1 so hopefully all works out and they run some decent numbers.

Jeff
