I have the 104 in my 234 stroker, advanced 2 degrees over standard.I run itb's and injection.Idles at 700rpm.300hp on pump juice at 5000rpm.Great power and torque.
Just curious, but do you have any dyno sheets? Would love to see the curve

Good times for an EH, what 60 foot? 9 or 12 port head?

Im with Ned, what kind of head? Its got me stuffed how you have got that idling at 700
Mate with webers my setup can idle at 600 without too much trouble, and thats with a 629B cam, 266@50thou cam. It does take a little work though. Getting the ignition timing where it wants it as well as colortune for idle mix as well as wide plug gaps gets it there. Just make sure your ignition can handle the wider gaps

Wow, ok then. What ignition and plug gap do you run?
I run Fireball Hi6 ignition and LX92 coil. Plug gap about 60thou on the street but racing I take it down to 40 thou. The larger gap cleans up the idle somewhat (not a lot but it helps).
All throats of the webers are balanced to within .5hg and idle circuit a smidge on the lean side.
It wont like extended idling though, will start to foul up a little. A long set of lights is ok but if you are sitting for much more than that I give it a bit of a rev to clean things out.
Xu1 9 port head.
Cool, thanks... Have you had it on a dyno of any kind?
Sounds like a great little setup.
Also, what size chokes do you run in the webers?

Never been on dyno ,but by the moroso speed calculator I remember working out that I've only got about 200 hp on the ground .Not sure of choke sizes. Can tell you when Ii went from a banjo diff to the 9" ,it cost me 5mph with no other changes .

No, I wish... I run a heavy drivetrain as well, 9 inch diff etc. Car has done low 13s by previous owner but when I took it to track I had no traction and struggled for 60 foot times hence could not get it where it should be

Ok thanks. My gaps are currently 40thou. I run MSD 6al and blaster 3 coil so I will try 60 and see what happens. Currently mine starts to foul also with extended idle.
Here is a video of my setup started cold after a few weeks of sitting. Idle hovers between 600 and 700 rpm

200hp at the treads is a very respectable figure, nothing to be sneezed at.
I hear of 202s with 250hp at the treads and whilst it is be possible, AND SOME HAVE ACTUALLY DONE IT, many who claim these kind of figures have not been able to back it up with moroso figures, as they either have no track times/mph etc or if they have them, they are not willing to say what they are in fear of their 'dyno' figures. 202s with more than 200 genuine rwhp are few and far between I reckon.
track mph and vehicle weight will tell a lot more about the hp at the ground than most dynos IMHO.
