I have the standard LX V8 throttle cable on the car for the Holley...as per the pic...it goes about 40mm past th base arm where the ball bolts into...any ideas how to hook this up?.is there a small arm extension or something?

This was how the linkage was on my old engine, you are quite welcome to the bracket if you think it will make a difference.
If you cant see the linkage clear enough, PM me your email addy and i'll send the photos to you and you could zoom in on them.
Cheers.

The spring should be pulling in the opposite plane to the cable to prevent excess load and wear to the throttle shaft bush.
