Any luck with the door/quarter alignment?
Hopefully it'll be an easy fix.

It looks absolutely fantastic after a rub down with 40 grade sandpaper.
Cant wait to see the sheen on the duco after a lick of paint, a couple of good clearcoats, and a buff to let her randiance shine.

just had a play with the door before, my uncles coming over on the weekend to paint the inner stuff,
yeah all the bog dust on the floor, is from the previous job sanded it all back and chased it for ages and ages and ages nearly half a day of sanding,
now instead of the 5kgs it had in the rear quarter it now has frOck all from what we uncovered it looks to have been side swiped somewere along the line and had a really bad repair lots of what seemed like black plastic in there?
so much dodgy had been done on this over the last 35 years of its life... never buy an old farm car sheesh worst mistake ever
anyway back to the door i pulled the front up which made the door come into line alot more better the line isnt perfect because the quarter isn't perfectly straight but it is alot more better alignment,
i can't wait to get this thing back to one colour and forget about all the body work i have done on this

hydraulic under dash system with pedal to suit HQ-WB Getrag 290 using a BF XR8 Master Cylinder
even came with a nice polished container
had a good speak to an engineer the other day, and most of it he's happy with just a few more things needed to be done and i'll have a permit for the trans tunnel
also me and a mate bought a uni mig 220 amp gas/gasless welder and a pipe bender to make an external roll cage for my mates hilux buggy if all goes well might make a roll cage for the torana.
will get pics of the custom checker plate dash he made for the lux and more of the fab work that we did on the chassis

When you finish, and it's gone well, I've got a bolt-in 6-point polished aluminium roll cage with all brackets and bolts if you want to save the time.

There's nothing wrong with suitable bike brake cables, they have to withstand a lot more force when used for brakes and they are nice and flexible and smooth - I used a tandem bike cable for my hidden bonnet release because nothing else is long enough, and it is well and truly up to the task. However the cable itself is only half the story, you need the appropriate sheath and ends (routed correctly) too, along with suitable return spring(s) at the correct angles and positions. None of it is rocket science but care is required.
