I soughta forgot what it felt like and it was only like 4 months ago it was on the road
Few little things to finish off before it makes it on the road, brakes were a little spongy, but yeah overall bloody stoked

Well seeing as the weather was soo good yesterday, i took the torrie for its first real spin and clocked up 100km.
Cant wait for some more driving though, although i think i need to toughen my left leg up, clutch is just a little bit heavier than a corollas

So for the moment its done But ill probably just drive it round for a while and see how things go, only thing i want to change now is the exhaust as its a bit too loud( i know what a wimp). But plan is to flange it so i can swap between the two depending on how i feel

So its been quite a while since i last updated the thread, few things have changed but have mainly been playing with the tuning to hopefully get the most out of the engine.
We have finally settled on a set of 54 thou jets, seems to be the best compromise between power and economy.
When the car was apart dad had welded in an 02 sensor 'bung' in the extractors to hopefully get some sought of idea of how to go tuning wise.
We used one of the jaycar kits and have managed to get some readings although the best it seems to read is high 13s.
Not long after it was back on the road, i had purchased a 6A Msd from the states, as the previous igintion system didnt appear to be supporting the new engine too well.
So after removing the module from the standard dizzy it was all hooked up and seemed to run a lot better than prior to the changes. But dad being dad still wasnt quite happy
so the decision to get another dizzy was made. And although some people arent fans of the brand we purchased a procomp billet unit which looked the part anyway. After fitting it up
it appeared to run better again..win!! Strangely it also changed the exhaust note, which we put down to the fuel being properly burnt. In all the change to the msd system cost just under $400 and has improved the cars driveability
immensely not to mention cold starts.
A few months prior to pulling the car off the road we also purchased a set of globe style rims, 13 x 6, as despite having rolled the rear guards the lowered springs in the rear have ment that
major scrubbing was occuring over bumps etc. So we stripped down the old wheels and gave them a lick of paint and polished up the outer rim. Intially the colour didnt seem to match the car, but has since began to grow on me
however I may consider repainting them a darker colour in the future. As it sits currently the rear has a 205/65 and front 175/60 which is soon to be changed to a 185/65 for better fitment!
This is what they looked like when we got them..
Paint stripping them..were painted white on the inside??
Fresh and clean after a quick sandblast
And how it sits on the car currently
There isnt too much more i want to do the the car, before it gets a paint job which is still a few years away (have to finish other project first) other than eventually converting it to the good ol bbq fuel.
But for the moment i just wanna cruise the pants off the car, and fingers crossed the weather starts improving in melbourne too!
Went with my mate up to the dandenongs also last week which was a good opportunity for it to stretch its legs again, here they are posing!
And just a few more pics!!
Ill try to keep up to date if anything changes this time!!

Spotto DeLorean yesterday. Nunawading coming out of Macca's. About 3.30pm. Historic plates H3443 or something?
Lol yep i was in the car, we went on a quick lunch run lol..some how it really doesnt work well with the whole drive through seen, and to make things interesting we had a cop car follow us the whole way down whitehorse road until we got to work!
Cool i shall keep that in mind about the dizzy we got it at a goodish price, so thought we'd see how it went anyway, really wont see much high performance stuff but hopefully it holds, was gonna put the spare standard in the boot just in case
