G'day again guys and girls,

Have had my eye out for a uc torana for a daily driver for a little while, so i can take my ute of the road and get it ready for my wedding. being away for work i havent been looking too hard, but i managed to buy this from the other side of the world. some of you may have seen it listed on ebay.
it will be living at my mums place until i get back in november and then the plan is to use it for a work/daily driver car, having not really played with toranas before, im planning a full suspension workover so i can have a bit of fun thrashing it round. can anyone recommend springs/shocks/swaybars?
also looking for a tacho dash for it, give me a yell if you have one you want to part with
heres a few pics(they are the ebay ones, i will get more when it gets home next week)

Cheers
Stinga

Pretty neat looking UC. Good start to making a decent LX : )

I'll ask my brother if he wants to part with his full instrument cluster from his hatch.

after the suspension will probably be a manual conversion, so if anyone has the gear laying round, let me know

Looks tidy. Manual + stiffer, lower suspension in any Torana makes it great.

You can get the GTS wheels in brown aswell, as found on UC SL/E's AFAIK.

Yeah UC SL/E wheel is what ya want I think, or maybe it's just UC SL? Either way they had the cream rim on a wheel with black holed spokes, but the centre (horn button) was a different style that doesn't look racey, suitable though.

I run commodore IRS springs in the back of mine and they are excessively stiff. I wouldn't recommend them unless you specifically need to limit your suspension travel, which I do with my heavily dished wheels. Choppies up front and they seem okay; stiffness is appropriate for the car but I need to change them because I want to go lower.

I would just find a set of lowered springs for all four corners and see what they are like, you might want to go stiffer at one end or whatever, experimenting is the best way to find out exactly what you want in my opinion, thankfully Torana springs are cheap and you can sell the ones you decide you don't want. Shocks? The more you spend the better you get kinda thing. If you want it to sit nicely on the road you want the shocks to be good, Bilsteins would probably be the best option, Konis a close second. The Konis are 2-way adjustable I think, where as the Bilsteins aren't really adjustable but you can change the viscosity of the fluid (i.e. one way adjustable). My limited experience with Monroes, Pedders and things like that is that they are really just appropriate for pedestrian cars.

Koni reds are one way adjustable without pulling them apart, think koni yellows are two way adjustable.

Nice rig mate.

Cheers.

Like a 195 55 series would probably be about the go. That may not match for speedo gearing 100% but it would be close

sounds good Heath, not to fussed about the speedo, i will roughly work it out from the gps

just brought my HD sedan home, and i had some wheels in it with brand new 205/55/15, that i had forgotten about, would they be too wide for these wheels?
