They would be fine, you can go a long way in either direction with tyre fitment. A friend of mine has 185s on 10"s, and another car I did some work on had like 265s on 7" wheels

I just find that cars drive a lot nicer with a slightly wider wheel - a 235 on your 6.5" wheel would be sloppy as shit laterally and it would look crap but it would probably still be legal. It would also be fine for drag racing etc

Commodores with 15x6 factory wheels are usually fitted with 205/65s so width will be fine, just watch the overall diameter for clearance

so i had the uc blue slipped on the 30th dec, rego'd on the 31st, and its been trouble free cruising so far. thanks to nicko61 for sending me a hubcap in the mail, fitted the steering wheel today, gave it a quick polish the other day, still need to do the roof and bonnet but its been raining on and off, then i will take it somewhere for some better pictures
still needs a lot of little stuff tidied up, but i like it! apart from that very ill fitted fraud radio...

Nice UC , that steering wheel sets it off , it would look good with a set of globe mags and still not attract the cops.

Na, the 'caps' are perfect.

I dislike UC's, but i'd own that.

Cheers.

Nice job Stinga, just what I need to do as well. My old gal either has a hole in the extractors, or gasket is toast. Or both!

Mind me asking what the extractors set you back?

Regards the 2 barrel strommy, I really like the thinking. Always believed that a holley 350 was too big for a 202 myself.
The twin strommy works better from my experience.

Nice car matey.

extractors cost me 80bucks from the local wrecker, wire brush on the drill and some paint made them pretty. had the 2 barrel stromberg and manifold from the ute

Question for Stinga: what rims are those? I've got a UC hatch, and when I get new tyres I'd like to change to 15 in.

i think they are volvo rims of some description, with reversed centres

Do you mean that there is a separate central hub that can be unbolted and turned around? It's hard to tell from those pics.

What wrecker was that Stinga? Everyone I have tried doesn't keep anything over 10 years.

just a small update, have had a couple of delco dizzies sitting on the bench for a while, took it to work this week as i have been on night shift and cut it down to suit as per old johnno's tech guide. pretty straightforward, i put some pics in the how to thread rather than posting them twice. i will get a pic when i put it in the uc to try it out over the weekend.
