I've just fitted a Hoppers Stoppers 290mm Disc / BA Twin Spot Calipers Kit to the front of my LH and found that the Caliper Housing hits part of the Suspension when on Full Lock - has any one else had this problem - looks like I will have to make 'Steering Stops' on the Lower Control Arm - again has anyone done this.

You have to swap the stub axles around so the brakes are on the rear.

Isn't this addressed in the instruction sheet ?

i fitted the au series 3 290mm kit on mine and i had to swap the stub axles over, also had to do some slight grinding on the rear of the stib axle to allow the caliper bracket to sit flat. Not sure if the instructions are different with your kit but it did mention to do the swap on mine

Thanks for your comments - but all that has been done - the Caliper Housing still touches part of the Suspension Subframe underneath the the Top Wishbone, when on full lock - it seems I'll have to put a 10 - 12mm thick stop on the Lower Control Arm as there are no stops fitted originally- I have a LX H'Back which has stops fitted from new so maybe I'll copy the design off them - so much for "Bolt -on-Kit"

UC lower control arms have stops. Maybe get yourself a set and see if that helps.

Are you checking this at ride height? I was a bit concerned about the same thing when I fitted mine until I realised that there was absolutely no way it would have full suspension droop and full wheel lock at the same time (bigger problems if that's the case!), and there is plenty of clearance under all normal driving situations.

I fitted dome head bolts on the adaptor brackets on my similar kit which uses the same calipers. Along with UC style steering stops on the front arms it eliminated the calliper fouling the control arm. As mentioned above it only touched on full suspension travel but that still does constitute a fail roadworthy wise unfortunately.
