If it hasn't been letter stamped on the end like in that thread it could be anything.

Im currently using one for a door stop, perfect strait off a running car, rockers guide plates valves etc....

just posting pics of head its a little debating weather to git it clead up reco'd and put it on the car but have been told its not a yella terra? although all numbers point to that it is but not 100% sure my self any help would be great thanks

because people are too lazy to get the machine shop to cut out the head bolt boss's and pump in some tube when doing a hottie motor.

I wouldent waste any money on it, unless you plan to get it worked. Might be a good starting point pending on how much has been machined off it.

If you can get $150 for a run of the mill holden head, then I dont see why $300 for something that is a decent upgrade for a mild motor isnt worth that much.
I bought three "stage three" holden heads for $250 at a swap meet years ago, one of them is on my torry still today

Someone has bothered to put bigger valves in it and stuff, for that it is worth something. One could easily strip it down, check the valve guide play and potentially get away with just cleaning everything, CC'ing it, doing a bit of porting and throwing some new stem seals at it, might well be a good head with no machining $$$. It's got the adjustable rockers too

by the way the reason my head was the bargin of the year for me, because it was a 2815843 date coded A281.
stage 1 single yt vals
stage 2 double yt vals
stage 3 port work with collars
stage 4 double val springs
stage 5 shaved or yt roller rockers
thay might not be in this order,but am i right
i will take some pics of the one i got from the swap meet last weekend

i am not no head guru,, but that head to me dont look like a stage 3,, now whom of you fellars can name the stages???

John the 3 may have had inlet porting and the 5 exhaust porting as well.
