No mate there is 2 of us that dont like convo's (sorry Tim, but each to their own eh?) I reckon a big set of fat HOTWIRES with SLR 5000 Paint would look fat! But I do admit it does still look great!

MUCH nicer, Tim

Now all you've gotta do is get rid of those disgusting convos!!!!
Am I the only person on this forum that thinks convos are a pigs arse???

Hotwires are like assholes, everyone has them lol ;) except me of course hahaha, I am one of the few that is not actually at all fussed by them (hotwires that is, asshole are another matter altogether but treated with equal contempt ;).

Cheers

Hotwires are OK, but they're so stupidly overpriced for a relatively nothing wheel that they're just not worth it. Don't get me wrong, my first 2 toranas had 8 and 10 inch hotwires, but now I see 10 inch ones for sale and they're asking $1500 a pair. That's friggin stupid!!!!

I'm much happier with my convos for $200 each thanks : )

Yeah I understand Tim, Hotwires are dear to buy and why you went the Convo way! I am 50Y/O bloke from from the 70's we loved bright colours Flares, and Hotwires on Toranas! Plus, the huge Sale prices and EBAY bidding, have inflated the Muscle cars and parts from that period?? me='dirtbag' timestamp='1299289572' post='575721']

I prefer Convo's over Hotwires, Hotwires are a pretty quick way to ruin the look of a car IMO...Even though i had them once a long time ago.

Cheers.

If thats how much hotwires go for these days I'm a complete idiot for giving away a pair of magnesium (lightest rims I have ever held except 10 inch mini cooper rims) 15x10 hotwires a couple of years ago when I thought I has getting out of the torana game.:Headbang2:

Nice job with the flares. Good that you did what you wanted and weren't worried about butchering it. All it needs is some shiny paint and it'll look a million bucks. But what colour to paint it. How about some sort of dark metallic?

Don't listen to any of them Tim! Look at the cars they own! They can't say anything about bad decisions! :tease: They just wish they had a 2dr LX!!!! hahahaha

Convos are for Muscle cars...... Hotwires IMO are old, ugly and most of all BORING!!!!

I must be really dumb or ignorant as I have no idea what you're talking about?? : )

Anyway, I finished welding the drop tank today and prepped the metal. Well, at the moment it's more of a mock tank, or drop wank, as it's just a cover for the existing fuel tank. I've made it so I can just weld in a couple of baffles and put a lid on it and use it as a proper fuel tank.

I also made up the straps to mount it. They'll be flat black too.

I painted the tank in the same extra sparkle COB silver base that I used on the bumpers.

The paint will be good and dry tomorrow so I'll get it all fitted in the morning. Even though it's a home made bodgy I think it will make the rear end look nice and fat : )

Here's a pic I took today. I'm just going to stick it in here because I like it.

That's not too bad DJ. That's the sort of colour the owner of the 350 chev powered kombi wants.

Good point Matt, although mine is a 2 door LH, so it's even cooler hahaha : )

Would it be worth making a 'real' tank out of steel?? The mock tank painted looks very nice indeed

I've made this "fake" tank in a way that I can just weld in a couple of baffles and a lid and use it for a real tank, but at the moment I'm not worried about it.

Speaking of the tank, here's a few pics of it fitted. I like it.
