Thought i might throw this up here, a bit of a guide to hiding the wiring for the heater/demister fan in the engine bay.
This works with the lucas fan, if you don't have one you can find them in some of the HQ-WB's
The one on the left is the one you want.

Remove the 3 screws holding the fan to the plastic ducting, then undo the nut holding on the fan and undo the 2 bolts from the back of the fan which will allow the fan to be pulled apart.
Now cut the orange wire near the plug and cut the yellow resistance wire in the motor near the brush holder. Should look something like this.

The mounting plate now needs the spot where the wire came through filled. Just weld in a small peice of 1.2 milds steel sheet, and a quick sand.

While the fan is out of the plastic duct re-fit it to the car and mark the inside on the fire wall and pick a spot to drill a hole for the wiring to go through. ( Drill a 12.5mm hole for a wiring gromet)

A little trick to hold the thrust washer on when putting the armature back in is to hold it on with a bit of string, then pull the sting out when it's in.

Now extend the wiring and start putting it back together, put the back of the motor onto the mounting plate then fit the brush holders then the front motor cover.

Once the fan is remounted and the wiring is run through the fire wall, rewire the resistance wire and the orange power to the plug and reconnect the earth.
Hope this helps everyone...
