Go to a leather supplier and see if they have leather dyes that you can paint on.

While we are on the subject of using dyes, I've seen on eBay sellers selling restored sun visors that have dyed black.

How close are these to original?

hrm they look really good. i think for non contact sort of parts dye is fine. but the question is, for a seat which is trimmed in vinyl, 1. is the finish going to be consistent, and 2. will constant sitting and movement change the finish?
Vinyl paint/dye works well on things like door trims, dash pads if you give it a few coats,But I have never tried it on high wear items like seats,It is supposed to actually be liquid vinyl & be able(once dry) to integrate into the base yinyl. Most leather that is whats called corrected grain(textured) that is solid coloured is actually coated with a vinyl layer, You could probably re-colour the back seat to match the front seats with a few good coats of vinyl spray & if it gets as little use as my back seat does it would be fine.

I've seen on eBay sellers selling restored sun visors that have dyed black.
I've tried the vinyl spray on the upper door vinyl of my LX, one door had white vinyl and it looks better than the original black on the other doors. Has probably been on 10 years now without fading or peeling.
I used the stuff on the sun visors (I can't remember why actually) and my visors are very sticky to touch and the passenger side one got stuck to the roof lining so much a small piece tore off the visor when a friend lowered it.

cheap as and it will protect them from the sun damage these cars are plagued with
i have used the vht sprays and i find after a few months use on things like door trims and consols it tends to flake off
so can only imagine it been worse on seats
