It was trailered to Toranafest, but he told me he was slapping some street tyres on it and cruising in it once he gets used to the power. Its engineered and registered.
Keith will be able to tell you the full story of it.

My twisted view on Tornafest 2010 ..... Part 1

I had to pack twice because the first one was to make sure I could actually fit in all of my display as I had added more items.



Yep, it all fitted and I also had remembered to pack my supplies for the drive to Newy



I headed off at 5am Saturday morning to the song of "Bat out of Hell" by Meatloaf.

First thing to greet me was these 3 characters and I think Danny was trying to stop Keith from hearing my blariing 60's & 70's music



I averaged 24 MPG for the whole trip and I know some of the cars were a bit thirstier but this one was ravenous and even started to eat the driver



Settled in and was ready for the afternoon cruise into Newy but once again I will have to complain about the traffic at the motel

What a traffic jam and I was finding it hard to get out into the line of cars.





But a good samaritan let me into the line away we went



Damn slow XU-1 in front



Up past the Toranafest site and found "surfs up"



Great winding road to the beach parking lot but still had a pesky slow XU-1 in front



Arriving at the beach was a site to behold with more Toranas than you could poke a defect notice at



I think there were about 57 Toranas in the car park and some of them had brought along special guests like this lady



Mick McCardle came up to me and said that there was this "woman" who needed a lift back to the motel.
Being the gentleman that I am I extremely fastly speedily quickly took up the offer for "her" to be my passenger back



WELL some one had to do it

What a lovely gracious lady is our Bev Brock

At the BBQ that night there was another special guest



Yes, the HVTC had some how managed to dig up Elvis to make a surprise appearance.
Don't think Danny was quite convinced it was the "King of Rock 'n Roll"

Theme for Toranafest this year was "Living in the 70's" which seemed to fit these 3 clowns





BUT we all knew who ended up the "bunny" out of this lot



ME

BUT who was the best dressed on the day .... White Knight and Big T of course AKA Keith and Tony



Also winner on the day for best display was Scotty and his caravan which was clearly a crowd favourite



Another crowd favourite was Michael Chamberlain and his 2 yellow Hatchbacks "4ENSIC and 4MOVIE"



It seemed everyone wanted to pose with Michael's cars





Herne's DREAM seemed lonely



BUT not for long as this admirer thought highly of Al's car



Ya never know just who you might meet at Toranafest



This is Adrian who I haven't seen for over 25 years and is my daughter's god-mother's son

AND there were a lot of admirers looking at his silver LX



The Shannon's rig was a great place to take some photos from



It was also a good place to hide an imposter



Bev met up with Peter and me with Alan Moffat



Most of the trophy winners were happy with their wins but Pat (Yella SLuR)wasn't with his but he proudly displayed it on the window of his car, a defect notice



Now that Toranafest is over I will have to make a confession I was unfaithful to my wife .... twice, well I had to do it again so I could get a photo taken of my infidelity

Would loved to have got her number as we did hava a very interesting conversation on the way back from the Saturday arvo cruise.

Lovely lady, gracious and a very genuine person as any one who has had a chat with her will tell you

Doesn't seem to matter that it actually makes the car less stable more dangerous to drive eh?
