Hi all, Just arrived home from my first session of Torana Fest, and I think I will make it every year from now.
But for now I want to post a few pic's of our Queensland Torana Car Club President Big T, as Tod Martin said "he had a legionary weekend" (not that he can remember it).
And Big T, Bev Brock will never forgive you and your Big T Bone remark.......

I think this is my 6th Toranafest but 1st time I have been with a torana. I had a different perspective as an entrant to my first show.
To all the HVTC guys you raise the bar every year, CONGRATULATIONS! Cant wait for next year.
PS. thanks to Lexi for including a picture of my car.

Nah, I do recall most of it and what I dont recall the photos and comments suggest I had an over indulgent weekend.
To anyone I offended (and I dont think there were too many, except of course maybe Bev but Im still not so sure I actually did say anything), I sincerely apologise. I had a bad case of Pistcontitis most weekend which seemed to go away when I stopped drinking.
To all those I met again or for the first time it was pleasure to say g'day in person. I was genuinely surprised by who turned up and it was great to be able to shake your hand and thank you in person for the help given to me on the forum over the years.
To those who had a laugh at my expense, you're welcome Im certainly having a good chuckle this morning reading the comments and looking at the photos.
All in all, yet another fantastic event and an absolute credit to HVTC. Well done !!!
My shitter made the journey with no problems at all although I think the rear springs and shocks need looking at. All those late nights paid off and Im pretty stoked with the little beast.
Anyway, enough of my rambling as I'm sure youse have heard enough of that for another 12 months.
Here are a couple of photos of forum members from my camera. I have a heap more I need to sanitise before I post up.
Stay Cool,
T

Your welcome :-) Which car is yours ????
Lexi, that's my car.
Big T, it's guys like you that make Toranafest full of fun, it was good to see you "let your hair down". I was one of many who gave you a standing ovation.
Cheers Darren

Really ????? Your one is one of my really favorites and is also similar colour to what we want to paint ours :-) So I was checking it out even more, was good to see the colour on the car properly and not just test paints on panels :-)

Well I'm still a bit Wallaby ROO's brother TED today so I will post up some pics later and also give my weird spiel on Toranafest 2011
Once again the HVTC Toranafest Team lead by Mick McCardle have done a brilliant job of putting together a top weekend and congratulations
To get such a line-up of celeb guests is almost beyond belief
I said to Bev "Isn't this fantastic to have such great line-up of celeb guests?"
Bev just replied "We are not celebs, just normal people"
Sorry Bev but 276 Torana drivers and their passengers would probably disagree on that
After the Satureday night dinner, my friend Gary and I had the pleasure of sitting down with James Brock, Bruce Nowacki and Ned Nowacki outside the Nowacki's motel room chatting about the old HDT days and it wasn't till just after midnight that I called it a night.
The stories were absolutely brilliant, funny and informative on how HDT operated especially when Bruce and Ned talked about the Repco 1979 Around Australia Reliability Trial
I certainly hope the Nowacki brothers get their memoirs down on paper and perhaps published into a small book and if Gary has anything to do with it, it will happen. Here's hoping
Regards ... Barry
