I think that I might start the ball rolling with a simple question....
I know alot of ppl have put in their orders/ wish lists for things that they would like Rares to reproduce, but it would be great to know what they have in the plans to be released in the next 6 to 12 months.
Any chance of getting some previews? Also, what about some prototype pics, etc?
I for one, would love to see Rares reproduce the Hatchback console and accy's (ie switch and radio facia, etc).
cheers
Mick

They are easy
Just a few Orings
Rarely is the body too corroded that they need any sleeving done
The units.... to buy new..... are P7256 for the later one with 2 pin brown switch
PBR still list this new at around $160
The older cars with the 1 pin black switch is P6720 and is still listed as avail for around $180
I can supply Oring kits if needed. $25 plus post
And can find out on supply avail on new ones too

do the external door belts thru rares for LC come with clips?
I need the 4 replaced, how much? Is there a price difference if I order them online or go to the South Rd, Adel store?

As far as I know the door belts do not come with clips. We set a recommended retail price as a guide, it is each distributors decision to set their own price depending on market forces so look around but remember freighthi les,

Grahamhi les, just a question on hatch back rubbers. ive never bought anything from rare spares before and please tell me are the rubbbers and window seals a perfect fit. and do you sell all of them as a complete kit or something.
cheers graham
We made windscreen and door seals for GMH and they where happy to put them in GMH bags so I guess the fitted well enough for them. Some times people expect our seals to fit better than they did when the cars where new and they dont but they do fit just as well, I doubt they fitted perfectly when fitted on the production line. You can buy the parts separately you can buy a basic kit or you can buy a complete kit (all rubbers)

Haven't had this one before I will see if anyone at Rares has the answer are the black plugs new or original if they are new did you get them from Rare Spares as there are some Chev plugs out there that do not fitHi Les, I have bought a complete Rare Spares rubber kit for my LH 4 door, but I'm having a lot of trouble with the little plastic "chrismas tree" clips that hold the rubbers in, a lot of them are falling out of the black plastic plugs around the doors. Is there a secret to making them stay in? Do you have any other style of clips that may be more reliable?

Hi all.
just bough a rares hatch window seal and the locking strip.

Any help would be appreciated.
We just fitted one on saturday , but i have the black rubber locking strip not sure if its the same . Are you unsure on how to fit it into the groove?? If you are ill do my best to draw or show you what we used to get it in . Without it would be a long process.
Les
BTW the rear screen rubber fit pretty good , i replaced the last rares one i had in there from 15 years ago which never quite sat right, but that could have been my fault years ago who knows.
Im really keen on a hatch seal as the one i bought about a month ago is no good at all , cant even close my hatch , any chance of a new one coming out or lift it in the priority im sure you would sell 1000 of them just in here
Cheers

Unsure how the whole thing fits the hatch and the glass. i expected a seal that looked like a H but instead it lookes like a figure 8.(in cross section)

Thanks mate, i'd appreciate the drawing. I'm stumped!

Shouldnt look like a figure 8 , ill get a pic of the hatch seal cross sectional area and see if its the same. As for the windscreen rubber its on the car now but i thought you meant how to fit the locking strip , ill try lift a piece of locking strip tonight and make a tool similair to the one that was used and show how it goes in , pretty simple tool and it makes it real easy .

First is similair to the tool that was used to put the locking strip in , the original about as thick as a coat hanger and had a handle like a file would have.
Second is showing how the locking strip is fed through the loop as the loop spreads the locking groove apart , move the loop through the rubber allowing the locking strip to drop in .
Third is the cross sectional area of the hatch seal not the windscreen rubber, if thats the one you have then they have supplied the wrong thing.
Admittedly the screen rubber didnt look right when i got it but if you start from where the locking strip sits it soon becomes clear on how it goes

We have just rejected the latest sample of the new hatch seal , we should receive a new sample in about 3-4 week if that is approved we will have stock after that

goodevening les, are the left hand gts door mirrors available yet? also the part id love to see reproduced ,is the black wrinkle finish SLR ashtray facia. id sell me mum for one of those mate! and possibly my dog too, for a black lower uncut dash/glovebox lid and facia..........hes quite some dog!!! im sure those parts with their mint looking new chrome lines would be a very very hot seller with this community. regards .j.
A new sample of the mirror has been approved and we should have stock in 6 weeks if all goes well. As for the ashtray is there an SS one as well as SLR with the wrinkle finish? We would only proceed with making these ashtrays if we could modify the existing tooling. We would also need a sample of the parren.
