Thanks for replying Edan.

I have genuine one that has a crack in it, don't want to have it fixed only to break it again. Very easy to do on our road's. I don't think you guy's will be able to keep up with the demand.

Thanks Victor

have to be in a car club & had to prove it with some

paperwork even though i told him i am a member of the

Rare Spares club & a member of this forum.

A little confused    :wtf:

I recently ordered from Rares through the link on the main forum page & recieved a discount. It didn't show up anywhere as a deduct, just cheaper prices than shown in website. I think it was 10%, not really sure, just saw it was cheaper!
Took 10 days to get here, when a similar size parcel from Brissy took 3 days.

Cheers

Is there any discount from being a GMH-Torana member.

There isn't a physical store anywhere close to me and i am not a member of a car club so being a member of the Rare Spares Loyalty Club is no use to me.

No offense to RSP stores, but I tended to find that when I bought RSP products via Kingswood Country I always got them cheaper then online or the nearest store, which I think is 2000klm away in Brisbane? Or the Gold Coast.

That's called competition but I am sure it is not always the case it pays to shop around just make sure you are comparing apples with apples.

Do you have any discount structure for your members of the Rare Spares Club –

Rare Owners members do not receive a discount only car club members. GMH Torana is currently set up as a car club and have 23 members with 1257 points. Please ask Aaron to contact [email protected] so that we can help them increase their points and ensure we have the correct details in the system.

Not at this stage, they recently had one on the 16/8/14. If there members are signed up and are based in Sydney they will receive an EDM of any events we are holding in the state.

Hi Les and Edan,

How do you join to become a member and use GMH torana as the club.

23 members from all the people on the forum isn't very many.

Sorry if this has been asked before.

The Kingswood Country parts that I were supplied were in RSP packaging, so I guess they are both apples. I can only ever shop around by email/phone/online which I did few times to the other RSP stores in QLD. I consistently got higher quotes for parts, so I just continued to purchase RSP products via Kingswood Country.

Hi Les
As a Rare Spares Owners Club member Since May this year I would receive invitations to VIP events
such as the one you mentioned on the 16/8/2014 at the Prospect store, unfortunately didn't receive
any e-mails of the event although I have received updates of new products from Rares.
Would it be only Loyalty club members that get an invitation or does it apply to Rare Owner club members
as well ??
I'll send Amy a e-mail so I can hopefully add to the 23 members & the points for the club.

Thanks Aaron

As i see it , being a member of the Rares Spares Club through a car club you receive a 10% discount if you shop in store, is this correct.

If so a lot of us are disadvantaged because we can't get access to a store only online shopping, the nearest shop to me is the Virginia store in Brisbane, so it is of no advantage to us to be a member.

I ask because i have about a $300 order to put in and no incentive to shop at Rares only for the fact i can't get the items else where which has me over a barrel so to speak.

Mort,

Perhaps if you place an order to a Rares store via the telephone you may be eligible for the discount? I'm confident any Rare Spares store will ship to anywhere in OZ.

Hi Les and Edan,

Any tips on fitting a Rares glove box into an LX?
I have not tried too hard as I don't want to damage it but it seems bigger than the space it has to go through to get it to the right location.

Cheers, Tom

The GMH workshop manual states the same. You need to be brutal with it. Squash it down and push it in there from underneath.

I had a damaged original one i pulled apart to try make my own (didn't happen), ended up buying one from Rares, there are a couple of creases in the original that i copied and just squashed it very carefully and squeezed it in.

Purchased an armrest today, the plastic inserts should last longer than this other one.

Looks better too, will have to replace the driver side now to match.
