All up about 50-60 cars and a heap of Ducatis, including Canberra Torana Club and the Hunter Valley Torana Club.how many cars were over near the grandstand because we had lots of room where we were, good spot to watch races but it was out of the way.

You know what they say, it only takes a few to ruin it for the rest of us. What a shame........parade laps. Unfortunately, they were cut short due to the FORD drivers doing burnouts.

Very impressed with the comprehensive race report and great pics of your beast in action!
Looking forward to hearing more about your exploits in the Torana, and Commodore (in IPRA)...
With any luck I might get a chance to meet you when I eventually get interstate to do some IPRA rounds in the coming year(s)
cheers,
Sam

Spent too much time socialising and not enough time watching the race cars but the sight sound and smell in the pits was fantastic.

Agree it was a great day but somewhat tarnished for the Hunter Valley Torana Club as we were invited to attend and took down three cars including the 05 Replica Race Car but we were banished to the car park at the side of the grandstand.
We needed fourwheel drives to get in there as the access roads were piss poor and rutted to buggery.
There were not many toranas in the parade laps and I wonder if it was because of the HSV and Ford Club numbers that bumped the Toranas out?
I couldnt get excited about looking at Falcon Utes and Commodre station wagons doing laps!
Next year why dont the various Torana Clubs enter enmasse so as to speak to fly the flag on the Track???

The Hunter Valley Torana Club was in attendance last year and we were invited to attend but found ourselves on the outside of the track and no one could explain why?
Riddle me that?

So a V8 Torana is not a muscle car like say mmm a Leyland P76?
I wasn't critcial of the other clubs that got a good turn out I was suggesting that a combined Torana Club attendance next year might get the Torana a little more recognition on the day and promote the Torana Clubs??

I have always found this to be a perplexing question

Some of the cars raced are replicas and it would be a brave man who said they were not muscle cars.
Whilst I can see what the organisers are trying to get at here I can also see the other side of the coin.
I sympathise with the organisers and realise the lines have to be drawn somewhere.
Just cant work out what is fair.

As I said the disapointment was the location, the access and the invitation to attend but no spot inside, I noted that there was plenty of empty space in the skid pan area when I walked over there but its all water under the bridge now I guess.
If REDA9X is correct in his post then why weren't we in the skid pan area??? I guess we will never know???

I dont have the letter our Runs Co ordinator has it but as I understand it we were invited because we attneded last year and had an SLR 5000 and an A9X there that ran on the display laps, this year we had an SLR 5000, Factory V8 Hatchback, LJ and the 05 Brock 79 race Car replica. We were surprised to be sent where we were given last year but no one at the Track was prpeared to look into it or explain it to us?
I dont know that it needs to go any further now as it is all past.
My suggestion that the other clubs got on the track was because they had numbers whereas the Toranas seemed light on the ground and therfore my suggestion was that the Combined Torana Clubs approach the organisers for next years event to see if we can all get on the inside and do a display lap.
I know the arguement about genuine vs replicas cars but a 308 factory hatchback has more muscle car heritage than a P76??? a Faclon XR6 ute and a HSV Station Wagon dont you think?? or maybe you dont??
