From the research I have done the plastic bit is not the problem it is the bearing that causes problems is this correctwould be great to see this one on the list..
lower steering column plastic bushes are getting hard to find that have not been worn out , LH , LX and UC all the same item i believe ...

That is correct. The plastic retainer is usually ok. Just the metal bearing that is removable.

Could you tell me the time frame for the following 2 parts i am chasing:
1. LH/LX metal battery tray. i know the UC one has been made and was supposed to be for all but is slightly different to the earlier toranas.
2. LH centre console skeleton.

Battery tray no date probably not this year you may be able to use the us one as a repair sectionhi Les,

A happy New Year to you, on a not so happy note the company making these consoles for us has disappeared along with our samples and tooling. We are back a square one once we find another sample we will start again.

Les that is a shame. I don't know if I can help you. I have an LH console I can lend to you if required. Not an LX one though. PM me if you want to borrow it. Has a few cracks and missing the centre part (where the T-Bar goes) but might be fine for a sample.

The HQ is also different on the top to the LH and the HJ HX HZ WBLH-LX CONSOLES ARE DIFFERENT ALONG THE BOTTOM TO HQ-WB

Oh ok. I thought I read years ago in the SPOTLIGHT ON TORANA book that LH and HQ shared the same console. Obviously my memory is deteriorating! I know that the LX and HJ HX HZ WB was different to the LH. I was only interested as I wanted one for my HQ coupe.
