However:
Roof is fine, still need to blast the underside of it but doesn't look like it will be an issue.
Rear panels: small section about 100mm long right hand side beaver panel. The place were i found the shitload of bog didn't have any rust its just dented.
Windows are all rusty some spots not so big and some spots longer than your finger(huge hole)
front isnt to bad were the rust was under the guards it didn't blow through any holes but it still rusty so to speak.
Underside of the car is fine.
Wheel well in the boot needs replacing i already new that.
Sills are only stuffed near the ends (front end). And a bit under the front doors (driver and passanger side)
i think thats it?
so not to bad considering, bit disapointed in the rear beaver section though but its all good.
He put a small dent in the sill with the forklift but he said he would pay for that.
Going back in the next couple of days to finish up and clean all the sand out/etch prime it and go from there. I will hopefuly remember the camera when that happens

This is the panel i found all the bog in that time. Needs to be fixed but no rust so obviously had an accident somewhere in its life.
Boots good
wheel well in boot baaaad
The rear section i was talking about, not much in the over all scheme of things
Bit of rust in right tail light
Worst bit around the windows (rear)
Right hand sill
Right hand sill, there is a dent there im assuming whoever had the car before put the jack in the wrong spot or something
Left hand side, the bit just in front of the sill (no idea on name) Has blown through a few holes nothing major. And the sill is same as the other side basicly
Lead wiping?
Logo thing i was trying to explain in shoutbox yesturday
floors are good
More lead wiping?
The grills a bit hard to paint apparently so we left that bit out.
Bit of rust in were the rad support goes (and a fat jack russel)
All wheel arches and things are fine
Roofs good
Bit of rust drivers side door.
Bit of rust thar (front, just after that grill)
Front window isnt to bad compared to the back
Number 3?

What is that emblem thing
I dont know, sandblaster said he found on on a eh i think it was not long ago similar spot. Very hard to read and you have to be in the right light for it. Just says Australia in the logo and croc or crog (something) under it
so im asuming it would be on most holdens?
maybe not?
i have no idea to be honest.
(numbers under logo were 8166 from memory)
like the 3 under the front guard there is 27 written between the left side floor pans aswell
thanks hawk, yea not to much to deal with thankfully

The shell looks pretty good really, so what is your next step? Prime and start rust repairs? Also the spare wheel wells are quite easy to make. I have photo's of the wheel well and all sorts of other parts and panels i have made if your interested? Maybe i should just start a build thread once i work out how to post pictures haha.
Good luck with the repairs, the car is looking great.

Yea i made one but in the end it turned out pretty gay might try making a new one again.
But year next week we will clean all the sand off it and etch prime it then go from there.
Ring the panel beaters when they are back at work and see what he thinks and ill get stuck into what i think i can do.
Obviously put all the front and rear end on it again and make it mobile.
-Yea make a build thread i would be interested
cheers

My advice is to stop spending any of your saved money on engine rebuilds, carbys, daily drivers etc etc... or you'll end up with not enough for the paint/panel and get a shit job. Paint / panel should be your sole focus mate.
I have a 202 here (Melbourne) out of my LX torana which ran great, no smoke, standard engine blah blah that you can have if you can get it to you...
Rebuilding cars is expensive but you can get away with spending NOTHING on things like engines etc to get the car running. Changing out an engine is a piece of piss down the track, bare metal respray to fix a sub-standard job is not so simple.. Do the body once and do it right.
Great read

Yea thats the plan i need a phone though (mobile) I dont actualy have one for that sole reason to save money but being 19 now and running around on my own i need one incase something goes wrong. And the only thing i have bought for myself in the last 3 years is literaly a pair of shorts and thats it. So i am focused on the money saving area, getting a bit hard to keep saving with nothing really happening with the car latley, but we have progress now so im very happy!
And yea the engine won't be to flash, just a small reco so i can drive it and not worry to much of it breaking down. Ill get it done so the webbers can fit on it straight up but ill just use the 350 holley i have or the double sus for a while until i save up again.
As for the engine ill see how this other one goes, if its crap i might talk to you about it at a later date, thanks for the offer!!
and if the panel beaters do a crap job its going straight back for them to fix it, i'm not waiting this long to build a half assed car i would rather do it right the first time like you said.
thanks jed ill have a look

My point (which I didn't get across too well) was that a 202 which has had $4000 spent on machine work, new pistons, head work etc isn't necessarily going to be any more reliable than a 202 which has had ZERO spent on it. Your reliability will come from ignition/carby/cooling system. I'd be grabbing a standard 202, fitting new gaskets and seals, painting it up nice and pretty, fitting commodore HEI and a re-kitted single barrel strommie until you are away and running. Will cost you frOck all.
The 202 here is yours should you want it...

Ugly messy set of draws
Trophy thing i made at....10 i think lol so basic.

Hey presto. Shortend old basic boring trophy thing, threw a few things out and put up a rather nice torana picture.
(also yes a draw is missing but it broke, the runners are bought are 1-2mm to wide so ill figure out what im gonna do maybe use the router and widen the bit on the drawer would probably be least messy and easiest)
(and yea im not a redneck bogan or something.....just have a small collection of bullets............)
And good cheap wine to the left lol

Came up ok. Not sure if i should paint them or fish oil them or what....most of it wasn't painted to begin with.
(i did a comparison of the part from the other side)
I pulled the spring off this, i would recomend not doing it because it was a prick to get back on.
These are the bits i forgot to take a photo of before, do another coat tomorrow.
Clean bits
Not so clean bits
Thats the crap i used to paint the tubing.....not sure if its the right stuff or not but anyways it'll do.

I was originaly using the hair dryer but it sucked and didn't do much so i used the gas torch.
Just the 2 layers
Time to clean these up
Old rubbers vs new rubbers
Rear spring thing
Hard to get in the little divit but
Got it all out in the end
Finished front end
Just did 1 coat on them....prob gonna get scratched and everything pls they will be redone with the engine bay i would assume
Painted them with the left over rust stuff......horrible paint job i need to go to supercheap and by one of those spray guns me thinks.
And i have no idea what these are for?

the other part is where the sway bar bolts to, it's one " U " bolt and the other end just a bolt.
where is the rest of the bar.
they are still in operation in sydney. BUT some guys have had problems with the quality of the finish. I just got mine powder coated.
they still sell rubbers for these items as well.
both front and back.
three cents.
PS hamo
get in touch with Mike Catts and find out the info on the primer that he used and get some.
dont touch the blasted car and spray the whole car with the primer to seal any surface rust or other nasties.
mikes a nice bloke and will be able to help you with this. if you dont you will have to re clean up and then coat. it cheaper this way to do now.
the repairs can be done over this coat.
