Going to henty field day tomorrow they might have it. They have just about every power tool and peice of farm machinery known to man so i dunno why they would't have a tin of filler.

If not ill hunt at auto pro.

Take the welder in on friday.....so who knows when i get that back.

Thanks chris. Made up an email thing ive sent around to a few places, ill send them that and another mob in sydney i was looking at yesturday. Has all the pics and things so we will see what happens. Just need a rough quote really if its within my ballpark then ill hitch the car up and let them look at it properly and give me a better quote. But i do understand quotes can vary which is no big deal.

Nothing interesting at the field day, for me anyways.

Although someone from 4wd action apparently tried to ring me according to mum. I reckon she is high or something.

Still half dead from yesturday.

Welder takes roughly a week to get to syd and get looked at yadda yadda.

there is some k&h filler at local paint shop, is that any good?

Thats all they got.

Still got auto pro but they are called Pro parts now so i dunno what the hell there gonna have.

Convinced dad that i can do some work on my car. So far he has agreed to the sills and the rad panel. He thinks im not good enough to put the front guards on and line them up properly which is ok i planned on doing the easy stuff and letting a pro finish it up for me so thats no big deal.

Now all that needs to happen is they finish the kitchen reno off so i got room for the car in the shed and the welder needs to be back i need to buy the sill ends and i can mooooove forward.

Your dad sounds like he's holding you back, man... It's only steel, if you frOck it up you just cut it out and go again. My dad kinda did the same, and the bits that he welded ended up having to be redone (by me), while the bits that I did were good...

I remember someone saying months and months ago that you were gunna be better off having a crack yourself... Not sure who it was. Young guy with a purple LJ.

You're obviously good enough with your hands and keen to do it yourself, just get in and have a go! If not, look at build threads like mine, MRLXSS's, LXCHEV's, Heath's, etc... We were all grommets when we started/finished our cars, and we did all of the work ourselves...

:iagree:

They were all grommets when they started  :P

Keep at it Hamo, its obvious already that you're learning stuff and getting better at it.

Yea i'm not gonna paint it i can already tell you that. I can't even paint good with a spray can or a brush for that matter. I prob pain under the floor and inside the floor with some of that kbs stuff or something myself cause i think you can use a brush with that. (and under the guards and everything)

Dad's just one of those....do it once do it right perfectionist people.

But we will see how i go. Like to see how i go with the sills and things before i tackle the more viewable bits.

So hopefully the kitchen reno is done soon and the welder comes back!!

Hate it when you can't edit posts after a certain time or w/e.

Anyways anyone know anything about the rotiserys?

Prob make my own but the garage is like........I dunno i hit my head and im 6 foot 4 so it isnt that high dunno if its gonna fit when i go to turn it 90 degrees?

Unless i have it really low to the ground but it has to be high enough so it fits on its side.

So kitchen reno means i have no tresels / horses to work on so i got 2 bricks and did it on the ground! Does wonders for your back.

DSC_2118_zpsfa07f9c2.jpg

The new patch. Might need more peno? not sure seems ok.

DSC_2119_zps795e8216.jpg

The task (seen as i got no welder)

DSC_2120_zps989f6d69.jpg

DSC_2121_zpsaea147ea.jpg

DSC_2122_zpscf8ffd74.jpg

Got most of it with the 4 inch.

DSC_2123_zps138d5ddd.jpg

Then the plan was to use this, i used the wire buff bit and the grinding bit.....and its a piece of shit as i expected. Prob due to the compressor being a tiny piece of shit too.

DSC_2125_zpsddc14ded.jpg

SO plan b......waste hours of time doing it the old fashion way.

So i did inside that first area and roughly sanded the rest, the rest was ok but ill clean it up and hit it all with some of the rust paint or something once all the welding is done. Anyways my foot was hurting a bit and i dunno what the hell it was so i came inside and pulled my sock off.

DSC_2129_zps850ef168.jpg

Some how a bit of wire got stuck in my foot. It was in a fair way and hurts like frOck still lol ow well.

so shed (well one with least amount of junk)

1870 high

2460 wide

4020 long and i could gain 500mm if i get rid of some more junk.

So at a guess it would fit? Not much room width ways, there is things hanging on the wall but i could move them but i wouldn't gain much.

If you're not confident in welding on your car, I wouldn't be building a rotisserie :)

So the car is 4387mm long according to torana tough and google (i didnt think it was that long)

And 1544mm wide.

SO double checked measurements

DSC_2132_zps679b481c.jpg

DSC_2134_zps08c5951e.jpg

That providing i can get rid of everything in the room. The other garage is bigger, but its got all the tools and work bench and everything so....yea.

Never really had a good look at a rotisery....I would assume it might stick out 200mm each end more than the car? i dunno.

Either way its gonna  be on the tight side even to work around. Might have to wheel it out to work on it then wheel it back in.

Need the diagonal measurement. ie lh sill to rh roof line. Thats the largest measurement for height when it spins around. Then you may need to allow for offset for balancing as well as pivot point may not be centre

Prob wouldn't be a bad idea renting one off someone if you can. Cause once i do the floor then i can get rid of it really.

UP THE KNIGHTS!
