Well what can I say,but WOW.Been out of the house a while and look what happens.
Looks awesome Grant and well done for sticking in there,as Bazza has said this car has come a long way.
As you know things happen for a reason, but I bet now your glad you got Grant to paint it,he's certainly one of the best.
You can now enjoy the ride of piecing it all together,I know I did.
Cheers Daneo.

Dane and Baz,

I can remember when i was talking Baz about this car and it was always a colour thing for me, I was offered a " red gtr" and knocked it back based on the colour. I think that Baz summed it up so true when he called it the " blue ugly duckling " that no body wanted , But me !

Yes Grant's great when it comes to these cars, with lines and colour

We are on the way home now !

Ok so there are ways to paint cars and then there are WAY's to paint cars;

  • door on
  • doors off
  • under coat colours
  • paint choice brand
  • how many coats you need to cover a certain colour - lime green is a bitch to cover
  • spray guns
  • don't bake
  • wet and dry
  • to flow coat or not
  • clear quality product
  • satin black or gloss blackouts

I feel a lot better for the experience of doing this rather than turning up and your car is just done without any input from yourself. not that I rubbed any of the car . i just nodded my head at the end of the questions above

The below photos are of today, car fully rubbed and ready for the top  flow coat next week then it's back home.

Ps;this is grant he is a spray painter , we cannot show you his face as you will see my car and want him to paint your car, his choice of paint is du point and his choice of spray gun is devilbliss - he would rather remain anonymous.

Update #98 - 40 years of dirt AND which one of these arms do i use ?

So entered the cave again and got all the stuff for the doors sorted and cleaned and re painted parts.- they look new

Question - can someone tell me why these arms are different

i have three and two are similar and one is different and even the two that are similar have a different bend in them ?

If there is no difference then that's fine , but it is strange that they are different, car makers like shit interchangeable  - ones a bit bent as i have not straightened it yet

See how all three are different,

one has the bend further up, one is not bent at all and.

BUT i did buy a car in pieces, cut up another one 4 door  , sawed a 2 door in half and it was a 74 TA,

so part separation has not been high on the agenda, but they are all the same length - as this relates to the 2 door thing yes ?

The last shot at the title.

some of the shots are taken through the shitty glass window to the booth. the last shots are magic of the plenum and rear quarter.

It's amazingly smooth and rich colour. thanks grant

ur all probably sick of looking at a green car by now

Looks magic Grant. The fun part begins soon. Enjoy the process of putting it together. I remember at the time of doing mine that l just wanted it finished however strangely some days now l wish l was putting it together again. Looking back you forget how rewarding and exciting it is working and watching it come together.

Will watch with great interest.

aleast it will be glossy and have depth unlike some other paint jobs I have seen in the past
