60 day torana fest countdown

update # 104

1) got the new carpets from Siba in lansvale - was interesting to see how they did the carpets and heat them ready for moulding

2) dummy fitted off the carbies and worked a bit on them a bit

3) packed the trailer and put all my shit into the trailer

4) when to Doggy rescue and picked out a new dog for home his name is " Freebro" i suspect that his previous owner was from New Zealand !,he is not free he actually cost $300 bucks Bro !, wish he was free Bro !

5) off to the mechanics today for re -assembly

6) got my handbrake rubber off the old handbrake whilst cooking some boiled eggs and bubble and squeek with the previous nights dinner - multi tasking !

7) Took this great shot of Nate in the back of the car

8) the black rims look really nice against the car, but i will probably do a set of silvers with the 4.4 inch rims and leave these ones black with dress rims and centre caps

9) fitted up the rear, sway bar , shocks as well

1 more mill BRO !

Marty

Far out Marty long way to see the car,but promise to take you for a squirt over stockton bridge flat stick !

the driveline's  in and looks a treat.

And now recipe for torana handbrake soup

  • take one pot whilst the missus is away as taking it whilst she is home could cause divorce, some say this may be a good outcome !
  • place on stove and proceed to heat the bejeezus out of the handbrake rubber end whilst cooking other things on the stove
  • ensure that kids are away as potential for dobbing you in to the missus is high on the cards unless you bribe them
  • Ensure not to wash the handbrake prior to placing the stinky old thing in the pot to add flavour
  • boil for 10- 15 mins and then remove
  • leave water simmer for 15 mins and ensure that the the left over SH#%t stains the pot
  • drain and leave pot with long term smell of petro chemical residue

Missus uses pot and says " this smells and tastes like rubber" and seems to have impregnated food for a while !

A must for the true torana lover who cannot get enough torana in each Day !

a happy one mill today

Torana fest coutdown 54 days

Update # 105

another day another mill

changed the brake master cylinder to a big nut, it's not correct but who cares. In actual fact i have no idea even if it's the correct shape, it just looked better and also I won it on ebay for $120 fully rebuilt

aldo told me that the headers that he sold me two years ago would fit like a dream - he was right ! a tally ho paper between certain areas, but straight, square and no problems at all.

No More mill's today as went out last night with old school mates and got pissed, but did do a couple of things ready for next week. But it's two more days at the mechanic then off for the brakes , then to the auto electrician then hopefully next friday at the engine builders for a start up of the motor.

Yes Garry, I know the silver wheels are the correct ones, but i got those ones off flebay with tyre s  for 300  so could not pass then up.

I have a set of 4.5 that i will probably do in the silver, I just think that they look plain and it's not my ideal long term look for the car.

I just like the black rims with the center caps and dress rims against the Green it just look really nice. the silver rims can wait till christmas.

Far out getting the  Freebro the dog off the rescue lady is becoming a bit of a chore at present, interview, forms , meet the whole family FAR out the dog would have been fertilizer , I've got three kids and they are still alive !

I was all set to go and then she will not let us take the dog based on me telling her that the  dog will sleeping outside  and not inside ?.

i'snt that where dogs are supposed to sleep ?, outside

Mate, animal rescue people are crazy.

Just tell them what they want to hear and get the dog.

Dogs need to be homed into good loving homes.  Clearly yours is one.

Do gooders will always do good.

EDIT: And put any damn colour wheels on the car you like.  Who gives a toss what's 'supposed' to be there. Put on what you like...with the work you've put in, you deserve it!

My dog sleeps inside....his dog house, or on his couch or his mattress. He's got it tough.

Is their preference that Freebro be put to sleep rather than having to sleep outside? Idiots.

Good luck Grant, looks like a cool dog.

update #106 - brakes are nearly done

Have told the dog rescuer, that we will go to Harvey Norman and buy him a King Single and kick the kids outside and Freboo can have the kids room, waiting to see what she say's !

The owner of this brake place has a falcon phase 3 ex fred gibson race car FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARK man we talked for ages about the car and all the race bits it's still has on the car, it only has 73 Klms on it . one off colour - cannot remember the colour but it's the only phase three in this colour.

could you imagine what it's worth. going to try and get a photo and post
