hey Lee, mate when I realised only three of them had seen Drag Racing live it became a necessity, every body was so great and appreciative of what I am trying to achieve. just goes to show that Drag Racers are the coolest people but we knew that. :)

The boys all now have completed their OH&S White card, a lot of small parts are being worked on and the panel work is commencing. Today we had 5 of our sponsors attend and speak to the students as we prepare them to do work placement. we are still awaiting the motor and the final arrangements are being made so we can start selling parts on Ebay. we also mocked it up so the sponsors could see where we are heading, but it actually worked more as a way of pumping the boys up further and I had 4 boys work back till 5pm tonight.

the look we were after, business like.

Posted Image

Posted Image
the roll bar is only cosmetic, but will be part of the closing system for the tilting tray.

Posted Image
The tray needs a little more grinding, support plates across the guards, and some Dzus plates attached and its done.

Most of the metal work is now complete, The body is off the chassis again and we are starting on the body work. we have purchased the alloy plate so as soon as it is cut and fitted to the tray it is ready to go for powder coating as are the guards. We are still waiting on an engine trans and need to decide which way to go with the diff.

I have purchased a vehicle to serve as the donor for the running gear. its a 2002 VU SS Ute. The boys are pretty good at disassembly so we should have it out in the next few weeks. I plan to use as much wiring as possible to make the conversion as easy as it can be.

I ordered a sump through Summit in the US, we fitted it today and set the engine into position so we can make some engine mounts, the engine will be solid mounted.everything seems to be aligning well.

not having the body on I was a bit curious on why nobody was using the standard cross member, this afternoon we sat the body back on and found the trans hitting the floor.

solid engine mounts

we started fabricating a new crossmember to sit the trans 50mm lower.
