SEVEN people including a woman have been arrested over the theft of two classic cars from a Pacific Pines address on the Gold Coast Tuesday night.
The 1972 Holden Toranas worth about $120,000 were stolen during a break-in at the house along with electrical equipment, entertainment systems and jewellery.
The thieves allegedly also tried to steal a Hyundai Excel before moving on to the much more valuable Torana XU1s - one bright orange and the other grey and black.
The distinctive vehicles were recovered during a police swoop on a property at Coomera last night, and seven people taken in for questioning.
Police said a 24-year-old man and a 37-year-old man had been charged with burglary and receiving tainted property, and would appear in Southport Magistrates Court today.
Three 22-year-old men, a 19-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man have also been charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a vehicle and one of receiving tainted property.

Hopefully the owner of these beautiful cars gets them back in mint condition, and these scumbags have the full weight of the law brought upon them!

Its generally the case that if they dont show up in the first few weeks, they are gone for good (obviously there are exceptions, but not generally with collectors cars)
Bet you are over the moon!
I tell you what though, anyone would have a rough time trying to get mine out, there are about 10 big heavy boxes of HQ-WB bits stacked behind it (I use the term stacked looseley... they are a bit of a mess actually) takes me about 30 minutes to move it all, then moving batteries around from car to car to move commodore to move the ute to get to the shed to get to the torana!
Pays to be overcrowded with cars I spose!
Good on the coppers too! top work!

Also I'm sure a big THANK YOU would be deserved to the person who tipped off the Police as to the cars whereabouts. Goes to show there are good people out there willing to help others and not just turn a blind eye.
I heard on the radio this morning that two men not six had been arrested and charged, but god only knows as reports always seem to be different depending on which station you listen to.
Anyways, Cheers, and as KAZ said buy a Lotto ticket. You deserve to win.

Im glad the cops down there are on the ball and actually do a good job,Here in Hervey Bay it just would not happen unless they tripped over the cars in a drug raid
I get the sh one t's with this sort of comment, cops love to lock up car thieves, however, and this is really really important, the information that leads to the grubs that steal car comes from the public. Got info, ring the cops, got suspicions, ring the cops, got a line on some cheap Torana parts, don't buy them, ring the cops. Never buy hot parts, be prepared to put in a shonk, thieves steal cars because there is market, kill the market and you kill the reason for the theft.
End of section.
