had a great day with my best buddy yel 327,and met up with some good friends neilsLX and Lexi, and a heap of others at the gunnadah swap, i scored some good bits and peices,my EH ute i recently got was issing some kind of heater,i could see where it was located by some holes in firewall and some rust water marks on firewall, see pics below,
Posted Image
anyways at swap meet i spotted a smiths heater that looked similar to what the holes were at home, anyway i knew the guy that had the heater and it was mint condition,so i scored it for $40 and took home and guess what it fits the holes perfectomondo, sweet.

those torana,s look great,BUT the lines of that HT monaro look way better than anything else,IMO.

N.O.S shell? So does it have a stamped chassis number like any other torana body? I wouldn't imagine that Holden would still produce N.O.S shells for current models but does anyone know if they do? I'm just interested to know thats all.

i've seen new shells before, dont know if its still done though but i cant see why not. When i worked for Isuzu you could buy brand new complete cabs.

its a N.O.S shell that was ordered in the 70,s,the car was in a panel shop after a big smash, the shell ended up upstaires ,and car was never repaired.

many years later,a holden man spotted it and took it home, has no chassis number .

holden did produce N.O.S shells for the new generation monaro,s,remember seeing them for sale,i would think these days cars are written of now,so no bodies available without i.d.

but i could be wrong.

i know they did up to the vt.....
seen a new monaro shell and vt stato shell advertized recently
so I don't see why they still don't
but tmk they have no vin tags and they need a rego check after the repairs are done

This was in Boydeds warehouse in Eastern Creek about 5 years ago. It was ordered to repair a write off. Dont recall if it had any numbers on it.

A new Hatchback shel would have had a GMP&A BODY plate, same as the race A9X shells.

Got some old tin to add.
My old man found a KE30 dumped at the local tip which was going to be crushed so he decided to save it.
Back in 1991 my Dad owned one and in 1998 i also had one. Great car cant kill them
He got a flat bed truck to drag it home and was not sure it was going to even go.
After filling it with fuel and dragging it behind his Hilux we got it to go.
It was fun to drive after not having driven one for a few years, not bad for a 37 year old car.
Anyway heres some pics.

The original back wheels were in the boot and Dads got the legal paperwork for it so his going to put it back on the road.

A scrap metal guy told me on Friday where there was a Torana on a farm if nobody wanted it they were going to crush it on the weekend. Iv spoken to the owner so im off tommorrow to go and save it. Should have pics very soon.

Iv got no days off this week and have been working 12 hour nightshifts but i had to save this torana so i got up today and set off to get it, shes an old TA 4 door (1st one iv ever seen apart from toranafest)and it would have plenty of usefull parts to suit an LC/LJ torana. No real plans for it but im going to have a crack at getting it to go as it would be a cool old car for my son to learn to drive around the paddock in one day. Heres some pics.

Love driving on dirt roads iv never been on.

Posted Image
Some cool old homes from yesterday dotted around the place.

Posted Image
The old ta dragged from out of the shed where it had been for 10 years and was waiting for the crusher

Posted Image
Also with a 80s model corolla, would make a great drift car for ricers but its fate looks to be china.

Posted Image
Loaded up ready to go home.
Still have a 2 door LJ to pick up soon, sadly it a 4cly
