I had one of those little 1200 datsun coupes (same colour too) a long time back.....   a mate and I gutted it and turned it into a drag car.   We space framed it and stuffed a 440ci big block Chrysler and an A833 4 speed cogger into it.   YeeHaaaa!!!   It was loads of fun but he bought my share of it a while later and eventually converted it to a speedway car.   Think he may still have it......

How ya been Craig?  Reckon I'm due for another visit if you have the time and I'm still welcome......

Geez,  I lust for that ESSO HR ute in the above pics too!!!

got a pic of the the Datsun after the speedway ?

Was the Tamworth Japanese bikie club, fund raiser. The little mini trail had club rego, lol.

I got myself and old GSXR1100,the first of them,i had one of them that i bought new when younger, and crashed it twice, sold back to dealer as a wreck, parts were not in country yet.

So i,m thinking ,seeings they were dangerous i might have another go at owning one,and restoring it one day.

Love the old XL500S. We used to make Trikes out of these in the 80's. Mobs in the US used to sell ready to go new frames for ATC250R Trikes that you just changed the frame and used a 500S engine. They were great Stockton sand dune weapons, although the really scary ones were those with big 2-strokes like RM490 or CR500! Miss the trikes, idiots in the US decided to make Quads which are twice as dangerous and ban trikes!

Still trying to convince the mrs to let me import a 1986 ATC350X!

The scariest thing I ever had was an ATC90 bored and stroked to 250cc, 750/4 carb, ran on methanol. Would easily do 80k's with no suspension.

Is that the same bike used in Mad Max, for the bloke Max handcuffed to the EJ/EH ute?

http://www.tradingpo...=D1080802553670

That is a 1985, he did have a 1986 for sale a while back too. There is also whispers about the unicorn 1987 350X Trikes that were built and not sold, most were supposedly pulled apart for parts. But some escaped supposedly. Bit like the V8 LJ GTR's!

I can do it too, but it is the convincing the mrs that I need it is the problem. Trouble is I agree with her reasoning! What do you need that for? Apparantly "because I want it" doesn't cut the mustard!

Same John, I hit a car on a Z900 when I was 25, wrote both vehicles of, I was wearing jeans, thongs, singlet and a full face helmet ...........   I was doing about 100 k's when I hit the car.....  I was so lucky, 6 stiches in my ball bag, fractured pelvis, and a couple of deep graizes......   I guess for me It was lucky I was on such a heavy bike, as it took most of the impact and pushed the car out out off the road....    on the upside, I did get enough money out off that crash for a deposit on a house ...   still love Motor Bikes and always will....  thanks for the pictures ...

Hi John,

I totally understand why you would hate bikes do much,i was lucky like Ian ,they could repair my body,i was 20 years old.Has anyone ever taken you for a double since?

I personally could not live with out my bikes, the feeling of freedom and how it relaxes me from day to day life is excellent. If I'm stressed i go for a blast and come back a new person.

Did anyone notice the first bike is a 6 cylinder, what a lump of iron.

I still don,t know which is my favourite.
