Thought id share these pictures,
Took the Torana out for a spin,2nd time this year,Cruising For Cancer, was raining and lets just say we had a lot of fun.Yes the centre caps are wrong, but the repos will not fit these wheels,no matter how hard they are hit.
This is an 86 gsxr1100 i repainted over christmas, its not perfect but not bad either, for the Bike lovers.Look at Stickers on entry door,Carna Torana where of to bathurst sticker, there was another paper one above it,but unfortunately time got the better of it.

Old ACT rego label from around 1989 if I'm not mistaken. Perhaps the old Monaro doesn't see the road that much, if at all these days.
The old girl has been sitting for a long time, but well cared for, hardly a speck of rust.

This is the best time of year for the little beast, the temp gauge looks more relaxed.
I,m glad it rained,I can not believe how good they handle in the wet,the front is always in control, and the tail tries to follow. The Detroit locker is a blast, nasty diff.
cheers

Today Neil and i went on an adventure that we have been planing for some time,on the menu, one GTR XU1 with a colourful history in the early to mid 70,s ,and has been parked since 1982.
Its a second owner car and a true barn find, anyways i,ve got a lot of cropping, and pictures to sort out,so its identity is not let out.
Car is filthy, but no rust could be seen anywhere.
Now if your interested in seeing more of the car and its story, click the like button, and ill see if there is any interest .Plus i,ve got no likes, lol.
first shot is of the mountains the XU1 sleeps beside.

Hi John,
This car has not been on the road, or off property since 1982,it is filthy. There has been a few mods done here and there, with alloy, that really should be removed, but hey its his.
Gee a lot of interest so far, started with 9 likes now a whole 23,woohoo,look out bomber lol.You guys with all the likes don,t have much to worry about.
I,m just researching story that was given, talk of Cams books with previous owner,he said this guy won more with the xu1 ,than the Phase 3 he sold it for.
Took me about 3 years to get to see it.

OK Craig, for you a small look.
But worth a close look, sorry about not handing it all over so hastily ,i had to wait 3 years ,and was lucky enough to get to its hidden outback retreat, also lucky to get pics and vid of story.
I deleted engine number and rego from sticker, blurred engine number, to protect the car.
The engine is an NP replacement,as the JP few apart, this little beast was not pussy footed around.

Well its a 73 thats for sure
I'll put my money on an early build (Jan, Feb or March) 1972 XU1.

If it isn't a 73 or 72 LJ then it has to be an LC.

Its got the notch in the guard, that would make it a 73 as Gene suggested earlier wouldn't it?
Possibly early 74 I guess but did they make XU1's in 74? I have no idea.
And its all good Craig, just making sure you know we're interested
