hi guy,s,

sorry bout slow reply,been buisy.

the old dodge is a pearler, the metal in that badge is more than a new car.

anyway when out to property, and there was stuff everywhere, the holdens are rooted but i,m going to strip out the good bits on the spot most panels are ok,guards doors and tail gates, the sun visor is a different type, very well made, actually better than the nasco ones i,ve seen, carn,t remember the brand its on the stainless gutter moulds, notice the X2 badge on the grill, there are 2 hd guards and bonnet, and i,m thinking if i have a better look about i,ll find more stuff,in the long grass is loaded with parts.
the old zepher is loaded with holden bits, around the house yard wasTON,s of old shit.

That old truck cab would make a cool rat rod.

Looks like you will be able to pick a few parts out of whats laying in and around whats there.......... need to find the rest of that X2 though that would be a cool find.

Shearers are most probably a good contact as they travel to a lot of properties around the country side having a look.

Scratching around old cars is always fun though hey.....

Heaps of gold there mate.

That mazda would be worth some money too.

But it would be pretty embarrassing to have it in your yard.

Love some of the photos in this thread. How do you persuade the farmers to let you look at their old cars?

This is a barn find type thread isnt it?
Cousin just bought this 4 door LC.
Was sitting in a shed for 5 years. Has a 308, worked trimatic and banjo diff. Original red interior, bolt in half roll cage etc etc.
Car was built, diff was blown then the car was parked in a chicken coop.
Plan is to pull the motor and check everything, replace and get in engineered and registered and just drive.

fenz,

so $70 bucks a ton then it will be

hi neil,

hi mick,

the country life is much different to the cities, moved here 15years ago and have never regreted doing so.

anyways people here are a different breed genuine good people, when i first got here just started asking about and there it started, and a box of beer or a few, when taking something is a winner, and when something is a special valuable car i will pay a good price.

the country people are always very interested in me saving the old cars and word travels, they even named me holden craig.

mitch,

its always good to see what others have found, thanks for sharing.

and finally hainsy,

great to here from you buddy, that van of yours is a pearler,i would love to own that van, you,d have to be very happy with it,that body shell was the best rust free shell, and very straight considering the other panels were so dented.

and here we go again, wait till you see whats over this mountain.

Cheers Craig. Yeah the body is in amazing condition. My painter was wrapped. He only had to sand it and repaint it. Not a speck of rust! Pretty rare that a sandman spends its whole life so far from the beach!!

Just to also contribute to your thread, heres some cars i was shown a few months ago. In a suburban back yard no less!! And yes, one is a GTS monaro... Originally 186s. They also feature in the last page in the latest edition of AMC if youve got it...

There was about 7 or so all up...

TRAGIC...

thanks hainsy.

yeah you couldn,t even enjoy walking around them, unless you used a machete, and one would think they are loaded with rust in that enviroment.
here,s one of the latest shed finds, and i,ll slowly add the rest of the cars, when photo bucket wants to play at good speed.
