I've got a white LC 2 door that looks a little plain so I was thinking of painting the blackouts on.

I'm not 100% how they are supposed to go and the differences between LC LJ etc. I was thinking of the full black rear but I can't find many photos of it. I don't have the rear wing and I don't want it but I'm worried how it will look with the black rear and no wing because the top of the boot will be white I think.

I'm also wondering if I should do the blackouts matt black instead of gloss black. I also was thinking of doing black around the windows, but not sure about running in down length of the bonnet.

I'm not set on any of the ideas, just looking for inspiration.

Pics please :)

Cheers
Marty

im not sure about the lc lj differences either, but i think it would look awesome. dont stress about not having the bobtail i actually prefer without, and with a 2 door it would be really different as everyone who blacks out a 2 door usually goes for the gtr replica. as for matt black. i think that would be really unique havent seen it before.

Thanks for the support mate. Yeah I want to steer anyway from the GTR replica thing, it doesn't have the flutes or the wing etc. It's going to be more of a street machine style car but I want to keep it more 80s/90s period and stay away from the modern stuff. The reason I was thinking matt black is because the white paint on the body is pretty tired and I'm worried some fresh gloss blackouts might look a little silly. I should try and buff the paint up first I guess.

I found a good quality pic of an LJ that looks very similar to the one in your av. I reckon this is how I should do mine. I think the body colour bootlid looks fine.

hey Marty,is this what your looking for,
i put the black on the back of my gtr because i dont like the yellow to go around the tail light area,i used gmh black acrylic all around the bottom but sprayed clear over the black on the back section to give it some shine, also gmh black around the windows and engine bay

Rob --if you need a better pic give me a yell

Hey Rob that looks exactly how I want mine to. Looks better on the LCs in my opinion. Do you have a closeup of the rear corners showing where to run the blackouts?

Cheers

hi Marty, here's some shots of the blackout and engine bay as you can see the gmh black in the engine bay is like a semi gloss(bit dirty though)
