Its been a long, but very productive day.

The car looks fantastic, it got to the paint booth and back without incident ,Matts got a smile on his dial, what more can you ask for.

Im just glad to be able to help out.

Wayne

Car wouldn't be where it's at now without your help & motivation Wayne, kept me from walking away from it more times than i care to remember. Just happy now the hard part is done & i have no more blocking & masking to do on it, looking forward to leisurely fitting it up. Maybe take it to Powercruise in March.

Thanks Tony, as much as i try to be a one man band, this car would not be at the stage it is without all the help & encouragement i've recieved from people such as yourself & so many others on the GMH Torana forum.

Hip Hip Hooray :clappin:

Once again the efforts of ordinary Ozzies have achieved extra ordinary accomplishments.

I think Wayne should be nominated for the Australia day awards

Keep up the good work all of you cockroaches .

No completed pics yet, with the rain & a single car garage i can barely open the doors on the car it'll probably be a slow process fitting it up. Back to work tomorrow as well & they'll be getting their pound of flesh out of me too which may also slow it down. The colour is slowly growing on me too, this car will never look as good as yours but i'm happy with it considering what it was like when i started the restoration.

Starting to to get it back together, i had to fit a larger radiator as the original one wasn't up to the job of keeping it cool. Now my fan guard won't fit so if anyone has a factory V8 LH fan guard already cut to suit three row core radiator they wouldn't mind parting with for cash, please let me know. Thanks.

The body work and paint already look 10x better than mine! It was only ever meant to be a daily driver "quick fix" and after 7-8 years, its starting to show!

I may have missed it, but whats the actual colour of the LH? Its very bright in the sun and looks almost browny in the shade, looks like a colour you need to see in person to really see truely.

Needs some engine bay colour coding now! haha. (more work?)

Good luck with the fitup, Fresh paint is always scary for me.

Don't know about 10x better than your car, this car was never meant to be a show car either. If anything it turned out alot better than i ever hoped it would. The colour is Saffron, original option for Torana, HQ etc in 1974 & not commonly seen which is partly why i chose it. It's a COB metallic but you need to see it in the sun, in the shed it changes from a bright burnt orange to more like the colour of your car. No colour coding or chrome & polish for the engine bay, i've tried to keep the car looking as close as possible to how it may have looked when brand new in 1974.

Believe it or not, it's the original washer bottle for this car & it was fully functioning before i stripped the car down for the re-paint. One of the things that really impressed me with this car is despite the bad paint & rust, everthing on the car worked as it should when i bought the car, right down to the light in the glovebox.

Looking great Matt. That colour's a beauty and it looks super straight. What are you going to do with the numberplates? They look much older than the rest of the car, but I reckon it kind of suits it.
