Once again man, you are an arteest!

I love seeing original resto's as much as I love seeing custom jobs. There is an art to each, and I wish I was half as good as you in doing either.

You are an inspiration to us all, keep up the good work!

I'm looking forward to seeing more of any of your threads!

:spoton: :spoton: :spoton: :spoton: :spoton: :spoton: :spoton: :spoton: :spoton: :spoton: 10 thumbs up once again!

Cheers!

Shit of a day, spent three hours masking & prepping the car & had it all ready to start laying down the colour. My mate started suiting up & we smelled something burning. Opened the oven door & we were suffocated with smoke. Exhaust fan for the oven had seized & caught fire setting the oven roof alight. Put the fire out & all is OK but oven is destroyed & the whole car needs to be re-rubbed. No summernats for this car, looking for another oven to hire out.

Back home, covered in soot but thankfully in one piece.

That's a bummer but at least your car wasn't in the oven when things turned to sh*t.

If everything went to plan it wouldnt be a Summernats push.

Good luck with it,Matt.

Hope the soot doesnt create too many dramas.

Yeah, i count my blessings as it is only insured for $3000 which wouldn't even cover the cost of the paint materials i bought for it in the last month. Definately no summernats, looks like she'll be mothballed indefinately as i don't know anyone else willing to hire me another oven.

Geeze the ol heart skipped a beat when I heard 'fire'. Glad to hear you and the car are ok. I hope it works out for you with finding a booth, its a pity that there aren't likeminded people in the trade willing to rent you a booth for a few hours. It's a sad state of affairs if that is the case.

Thanks Chris, i will keep it in mind. It is a hike to get it there, my painter mate is from Lake Munmorah & can get the use of at least two ovens up that way, but my problem is getting the car there. I can borrow my brother-in-law's TD Pajero to tow but i can't really afford to hire a car float for time needed to take the car there & bring it back combined with the fuel cost as well. Probably cheaper for me to send a car to WA than it would be to tilt tray the car up your way & back too. I only wish buisness people here in Sydney were as friendly & forth coming with help as you Central Coast guys are.

Surely someone down your way can lend you a trailer? lots of blankets wrapped around the car and strapped down?

I'd offer our car trailer to you, but unfortunately after lending it out in the past and having it come back with issues (not in any way saying you would damage it) the family made a decision not to loan it to anyone anymore.

Hopefully something goes your way soon!

cya at the nats on satdy.

No worries thanks anyhow. Have fun at summernats, i probably won't be going at all, this whole experience plus a few others i've had of late has left me with a very sour taste in my mouth & i'm finding it very hard to resist the temptation to walk away from these sorts of cars all together.

Thanks for the offer Ty, it is appreciated but it's not about money that has stung me, more about the self centered attitudes of a select few people i know who are in a position to help but won't. On the other hand i've got alot of good people trying to help, especially my painter mate & his old man. They both worked hard on the car yesterday & are almost as gutted as i am but never the less we're hoping to have the car painted for Powercruise, which is more my style than summernats anyway. Will keep you posted.

Hey Matt, Karma, those select few will get it one day. You just stick with the right attitude and you will get there. This car is a very special machine, don't forget that.
