Not good, as above I am glad that your car wasn't in the booth when the fire started.

I don't really know anyone first hand or well enough that would lend out a booth, but I will ask around.

If you need an extra set of hands to help in any way let me know I am not far away.

Also, happy to chip in for trailer and booth hire.

Hello all Belinda here. I got Matt down to the Nats in the orchid car. The car is now insured for more that $3000 which Matt is happy with. The car will be painted next weekend in Morriset and yes I will be getting my hands in and dirty. We really appreciate everything you guys have done and your kind words. You are a great community.

Thanks for all the offers of help & encouragement, it is very much appreciated. This is where the car is at as of today.

Photos didn't really show it, but the car had some damage from paint oven roof filters melting & falling over the car. I had to rub the top panels back & re-prime the roof & bootlid. Bonnet i just re-blocked. The car has been blocked back for the third time & i'm hoping it'll be painted this coming saturday. Big thanks to Ruts for organising a paint oven to hire. Car will be going to Bargo south of Sydney to be painted, was able to get my brother-in-law's turbo diesel Pajero to tow but no luck in organising a car trailer so it's looking like i'll have to fork out for a tilt tray. Has turned out to be a very expensive excersise trying to get this car painted, hoping it'll be worth all the headaches by saturday afternoon. Thanks again to all those people who offered help & encouragement, i hope some day i can return the good will.

How about a U-Haul or similar car trailer - must be cheaper than a tilt tray by a fair margin?
I used one myself a few months ago and it was relatively cheap as chips - since you have a tow vehicle, surely a hire car trailer will suffice over a tilt tray for which you have to cover fuel, driver's time and running costs plus the owner's profit margin?
Most pertrol stations are agents for U-Haul or similar nowadays and booking is on-line; you just turn up, swipe your card, collect your electrical plug and away you go!

Good luck with it and I look forward to seeing what comes out of the paint booth.

Cheers, TB

+1 for U-Haul. I used one to pick up my Torana three years ago, and it cost around $110 for 24hrs, which is pretty good. Worth looking up, just google U-Haul or car trailer hire. Good luck with it. It'll all be worth it with paint on it!

Beautiful Matt and Belinda! Great job and hopefully it was worth the wait.

Its awesome to see that their is always someone from here willing to help out and everyone in the peepshow picture (except Dennis. He just picked on me :P) has helped me out in some way and I hope at some point I can return the favour somehow.

Cant wait to see it back together!

Great to see a smile on Matt's face and watching him stand outside just looking at the car. If he could he would be putting it back together tonight. Thank god the rain was not too bad once we hit Sydney. From me thank you so much for all your help and for Tony's family for looking after Nathan today. Even I can't wait to drive it. Watch out boys next drag day.
