G/day Stinga

Yes there is a cam type mechanism that cancels the indicators, it is integral with the plastic horn contact assy part thingy that fits to the steering wheel hub. Unfortunately I don't have a pic of one.

Cheers
Dave.

This is obviously a uc wheel, but its the same horn ring for all the 70s holdens, the LC was chrome metal spoke old monaro style?, could be different.
The spacing of the lugs on the cam differs according to the ratio of the steering of the particular model it was fitted to, but basically it doesnt make a heap of difference to when it cancels the indicators in most situations.

The horn ring in the pick is not for an LC. It is for LJ/HQ onwards.
The part number is 7436460, page 92 Torana LC parts catalogue. Holbusters in Thomastown Vic has a few in stock and he charges around $20 to $30 for one.

The two long pins (which you can see on the circular piece of the hub on the left in the first two photos) are in contact with the steering shaft (which is a part of the horn circuit I think) and when you press the horn button they make contact with the ring in the steering wheel hub which completes the circuit, and the horn sounds...unless I've drunk too much already and have it all wrong!

yep those pics are what i was after Zook, and thanks DMLC71 for that part number.
Zook, any chance you have a pic of the column without the wheel fitted? does it have a pin that presses up against the ring on the wheel?
i dont own an lc, im fitting the wheel to something else.
cheers

I don't have a pic for you but yes there is a spring loaded brass pin mounted in the upper steering column bearing housing/indicator switch that makes contact with the horn ring.

HK,T,G or LC steering columns use the same upper bearing housing assy.

Hi Gurus

Does anyone know what the LC GTR Steering bolt PCD is?

Thanks in advance.

Nando
