Hey guys just been checking out ebay and I came across these beauties!!

More special features of this engine include:

Seasoned 4-bolt main block with one piece rear main seal to prevent oil leaks

New Revolutionary 1-pc design molded rubber oil pan gasket with load limiters to prevent over-tightening and higher temperature resistance than standard cork-rubber gaskets
New Brass expansion plugs
New Edelbrock Victor Jr aluminum intake manifold
All parts are painted separately before assembly for that show quality look
This engine comes completely assembled with oil pan, driver side chrome dipstick and tube, timing cover, harmonic balancer, valve covers, and an Edelbrock Victor Jr aluminum intake manifold.

This engine is custom built from start to finish in our state of the art facility by professionals that take pride in their work to guarantee that you get a top quality engine the first time!.

For $3600, plus $500 freight. This is great, I wish I could buy this its great.

383/450Hp engine. They also have 454/500HP engines, 350/434HP also.

Yes. No doubt it would be an American brand parts. Probably still better than stuff made here though apparently.

I think this bang for buck is almost too good to miss.

Unfortunately sometimes all you get is bang.

Is the freight to Australia USD $500 or is that freight within the USA?

Don't forget to add in GST and customs clearance charges.

I would check the prices on the new GM Performance small blocks at Eagle Auto Parts.

Freight to Aus. This is true, which is why you would need a decent mechanic to rip it apart and check everything out.

Yeh mate will check them out. Thanks.

I'd assume the reason for which is the inflation and shocking drop in the US dollar thats causing the Yanks to sell stuff extremely cheap, a cheap sale is better than no sale.

If its true its awesome.

I did my homework when buying a crate engine direct from the USA and Tuff Dawg did not come up very well. The old saying is you get what you paid for and you would certainly do with Tuff Dawg. Ask them to put their claims in writing? As soon as I asked them to guarantee the horse power them couldn't get far enough away.

at that price it will be cheap parts.
another company for crate engines. hendricks motorsport, there has just been a 3 year old, fresh rebuilt sprint cup nascar engine imported to w.a.
freakin awesome. this cost $2000 to be air frieghted.
if you want a chev hunt around ex nascar stuff, there is some very good stuff going at good prices.

Well that is what I thought, so I emailed him and he sent me through the parts they use. Here they are.

"We use Speed Pro or Keith Black pistons, Total Seal or Perfect Circle rings, Clevite, Fed Mog bearings, Comp cams, Johnson lifter, US Tool brass freeze plugs, Victor and Fel Pro gaskets, Cloyes or Engine Pro timing set, Dart- RHS or World heads, SI or Engine Pro stainless valves, Edelbrock Intake, PEP guide plates, Engine Pro by Scorpion full roller rockers, Engine Pro screw in rocker studs. We like to use American made parts. We don't like the import parts. They do not have the same quality.
From the time we receive payment it takes about one month to build the engine.
The cheapest way to ship it would be by ocean freight to one of the popular ports. It is only $500. US to ship the crate to Adelaide, Brisbane, Fremantle, Melbourne or Sydney.
You will need to pay for the engine and the shipping by pay pal or bank transfer before we build and ship the engine. Pay in U.S. funds. The bank or Pay Pal will convert the AUD to U.S. funds for you. You will be responsible for any tarrifs, taxes or etc charges when you pick up the crate at customs at the port. Any of those charges should be paid directly to customs when you pick up the crate at the port. Those charges are normally about 20% of the price of the product. If the product is being installed into a vehicle 30 years or older the charges are only about 15%of the price of the product.
Shipping time take 3 to 6 weeks depending on what port it would be shipped to and the ships schedule."

Shafiroff have some awesome engines. The tuffstreet range is an awesome bit of kit. $8K for top of range street engine. But I am a little bit hesitant about it having 3.75" stroke. A mate has told me that he wouldn't personally go above 3.7".

i bought a l76 6 litre motor off corio auto parts for $4500,threw a few more dollars at it and hopefully come up with about 550 hp at the fly.we came up with this figure because a mate built a motor identical 12 months earlier and got around that figure.mine has a few things extra things done to it than the other one so we are hoping it will get more hp.

I don't see why they wouldn't be, their crate engines are from good manufacturers. They also stock quality parts.

I'm hearing ya Bomber. But they are an American company, and I imagine they should be able to get parts alot cheaper there.

But yeah, I agree. However, they can get in a lot of trouble for claiming otherwise.
