Sorry Bomber, this was all back in the eighties and need-less to say the holden six made way for the the obligatory Chev 327.
So it's no surprise the HK Monaro (silver mink) remains right up there on my dream car list!

ummmm.......convertibles are for hair dressers and ass bandits. I'm not trying to offend anyone, it's just the truth : )

My old 69 Camaro convertible. I'm not a hairdresser, so that leaves ??????????????
I will admit to that Camaro convertible; and l'm not offended! Would quite like a HK-HG Monaro too.

It's just my personal preference. Once you cut the roof off a car like a camaro/mustang/impala they just lose all their lovely swoopy shape, and become a box with a windscreen sticking out of it.
They just don't float my boat, but you can't please all the people all the time : )

proper engine?????? 186 in something as big a a hk-t-g would be boring as they deserve the respect of a mans motor with 8 cylinders and the bigger the betterAh dont worry its still beautiful and i'd still own it, but i would only pay about 80% of the going rate for a original 186 job with proper engine still in place

You better, you probably have the only two people who wouldent just buy it cause its less desirable then bastardize it by putting a dirty rotten V8 in there....I like Holden sixes.
Cheers.
Engine and Opel long gone from it. I have the correct 307 now for it an Saginaw. The 307 is that close to correct it could have come from a consecutive car on the Pagewood assembly line.

In my opinion there is no better sound than a healthy V8 with a manual box, but in this case, if a monaro came along with 6 banger and 3 or 4 speed manual I'd be happy with that.

I think it was a 186 GTS? Had all the bits. Blew 2 x Opels and 1 x axle in the time I had it.
I got all the wheel arch moulds for it and painted it white .
It was written off (slammed in the quarter by a d/head) a week or 2 after I'd painted it.

Note the red tramp rods.

doesnt sound like any mate of mine cruiza.
Sorry DJ I wasn't meaning to imply you had dishonest friends, I was making reference to being a lover of holden 6s
I would be very surprised if you knew the guy, this was back in NZ and years ago, too be honest I doubt the guy is still alive given his lack of morals and intellect I am sure Darwin has taken him out of the gene pool
Again very sorry for for the misunderstanding my bad grammar and sentence structure

Seems it has been stored outside, & the rain water had pooled in the dented roof until it rusted thru. Apparently the interior didn't fare too well after that.
Asking price was reasonable though.
I also know of a T-GTS, 186S manual which is sitting unloved in an open sided shed in the middle of nowhere.
It's red, starting to get rusty, & 100% complete.
Unfortunately the owner is a miner & planning to restore it when he retires.... if there is anything left to restore by then.
They pop up from time to time.

would love to see it.
i know a fella that owned a black hk gts, not 100% sure if it was a 327 though, and he told me it was pushed into a gully and eventually buried, and now a orchard is over it.
when he dumped it they were worth nothing, now he is a keen monaro collector, and wishes he never did it.

i want to know where to start digging, its out western n.s.w..............and he is from muswellbrook.
statler,
hi col, theres a monaro roof here mate, from bottom of pillars.

Are you going to build one piece by piece, Dirtbag...
i wouldn't mind trying. If I could get a roof and an old sedan I reckon I could get something happening. I guess finding the glass would be hard though.
I wouldn't mind a pair of monaro doors either, but I'd want to put them into a wagon, not a monaro : ) Go the Aussie Nomad : )
