Is it really worth it for my situation to include Braided Hoses and Drilled Rotors, does it make much difference??

From what info ive been able to find out the drilled Rotors are only a problem when doing Track Work or Racing Quarter's as the rotors sometimes will get too hot drawing heat into the holes causing fractures in some cases though I would think for just a streeter it wouldnt really be an issue?. Regardless I'll be buying just Slotted Rotors anyway as its cheaper and im a cheap bastard most the time LOL!.........Do not buy the drilled rotors

With regards to installation of the kit,the kit will be in HQ pattern and havent bought my new 15" weld wheels as I want to fit the kit and take measurements first to be sure Im buying the right offset ( will go 6" wheels on the front),from what Ive read I'll need two front wheels in HQ pattern when installing the brakes which I dont have.
My brother has some 14" HQ GTS rims does anyone know the offset of these?,we were thinking of using these wheels on the Torana ( without Hoppers Calipers) just to get the stubs, adaptor plates,Ball Joints all bolted on correctly then bolt on the calipers, take measurements then work out what offset to get for the 15" Weld wheels...
HELP

You will need to do all this before you fit the caliper(s) as the wheel probably won't go over them, but that will work fine.

If you're not going to use GTS, etc. wheels why not go Commodore pattern?
It's what I did, plenty of styles available including BMW wheels.
I hear HQ pattern is getting increasingly hard to find, is this so?

If you're that determined you can always ring up and change but yeah Commo rims aren't the right offset, Commo ute ones are closer than sedan.
As for aftermarket, I imagine a better variety as there's many offsets for BMW, not sure if there's much out there for HQ - someone here could better answer.

plenty of choice ex states as they are chev pattern
i'd still go the commie pattern but
it's the tyre size you need
nothing around in 14"s soon
15" and above is the go
have you asked hoppers
what dia rims will clear his kit?
as i think some have to be 17" and above

If you get the 290 mm rotors you'll need ≥ 15"
It may be the 330 mm rotors for ≥ 17"
I think it's best to read the thread below - a lot of it is covered, if not it's the place to ask.

hq pattern is chev, so it gives you access to a huge range of wheels, cheap too. if u go commo wheels are expensive and your at the mercy of what offset is available

true
but then you are at the mercy of the aussie dollar
and while it is good now
remember it was 70 us cents at one stage not to long ago

Personally, I would use AU on ( 1999 - present ) Falcon stud pattern. They use 1/2" UNF studs which are vurtually unbreakable if some brains are used. Secondly it gives you a much wider option as far as rims go, simply because many more vehicles use Ford stud pattern than HQ and Commodre put together. Thirdly, the offset is very similar to Torana. AU offset is +36.5, Torana is +32. Add the ( probable ) extra track width with a brake conversion and the track will be virtually the same.

StephenSLR, a very few ( VP IRS and VQ Statesman only ) Commodore rims were +27. Good luck trying to find them.

So Ford stud pattern is no good for toranas, but a FORD 9" diff is?

he he
but you can't see that unless you bend down
and fyi au ford and on used a different offset so you cannot use pre au wheels on a au onwards anyway

Cause its 5 x 114.3
Same as Nissan,Toyota,Late WRX, and many other jap cars
So your world opens up to all the Jap wheels and offsets too
Much nicer then Commodore and Falcon wheels
