Also Chevpower in Perth do quite a few engines for drag cars, burnout cars, speedway & street. Seem to be good value for money.

Address:
75 Dobney Avenue,
Wagga Wagga, 2650
Ph (02) 6925 1911
Had my 308 engine built there 18 years ago. It is still as strong & reliable as the day it was built. Highly recommended.

I came across an engine shop in Dandenong, Vic called the 308 engine shop. They have quoted me a very good price for a 355 and will run it on their dyno.
has anyone used this shop as they are not one that has been put forward so far.

but
What would be the more popular(better) brands to use for say Cams, bearings, lifters, springs, crank, pistons etc etc..
Also
What would the average cost be $2000,3000-$7000,8000, is this based on HP,experience, parts used etc

I know that every engine built will be different with parts used, thus various HP figures quoted
but
What would be the more popular(better) brands to use for say Cams, bearings, lifters, springs, crank, pistons etc etc..

Heads: (Usually sold complete minus rockers) Air Flow Research are the business.
Cams: Crane or Crow are good brands.
Bearings: Clevite
Rockers: Crane
Lifters: Crower
Springs: Usually in the heads you buy, but if you need to get new ones, Crane.
Crank, Pistons and rods: Scat or COME.
Manifolds: Edelbrock or Harrop
Harmonic Balancers: Romac
Carby: Demon, Barry Grant etc
Studs: ARP
Depends on whether you want the best bits money can buy for ultra reliability or high power applications. It's the norm to expect $8,500-$15,000 for an engine between 450 and 650 HP.
Thanks for all the add ons guys. Good stuff.
