A big tick for Eugene at Flowcraft head and engines in Deer Park. Got all my machine work and advice from Eugene during my 308 rebuild in the last 6 months. A fantastic job done by his subcontracter putting the engine together as well. Engine went on the engine dyno last week and Eugene was expecting around 370FWHP but he managed to get 400FWHP out of it. Cant wait for it to be installed again and back on the road.

I had my engine built at Engine Solutions in Airport West, Victoria.
He did all the machining and assembly. He can supply parts at a very small mark up, which is still very competitive.
His name is Dario and is an absolute gentleman. He found many potential issues with mine well before they became an issue. His prices are very reasonable and his work is excellent.
I didn't know him before I walked in to his work shop, and he had time for me then, and still does now, even after he received my money.

Well worth the thought and a chat when looking for an engine builder!

Now thats the type of guy your after isn't it Grant. He sounds much like Eugene at Flowcraft, very easy guy to get along with and happy to help you out after he's finished with you.

Sure is. I have rung him a few times to ask questions and ask about what I thought was an issue. Instead of hanging up he talked me through it and wanted it back as soon as I could to check it. Even once I let him know it was sorted.
Great guy and very knowledgable.
He also does the machining and partial rebuilds for Preston Motors, and still well priced!

Not sure if anyones mentioned wayne at the Davies street head shed in morwell VIC for the gippsland guys. He is a really nice bloke happy to help and flexable with payment plans and things like that. All in house machining ect. And between wayne and his dad they have alot of years of experience. Highly recomend them.

Bought a 447 ci sbc from the states at half the cost of what it was here, broken in on the engine dyno before shipping also comes with 12 months warranty. I would of preferred to support a local business but paying $18,000 more for an engine with no testing or warranty is a tall ask...

Not super cheap, but knows how to get horsepower out of a 308.(525 hp naturally aspirated standard stroke 15 years ago!)

Give him a call Brad.

Agree, if your not building a 308 the States is the way to go, freight is the killer.

Got any details on what was done to this engine to get 525hp out of it?

Obviously would have VN heads at the very least and some heavy porting.
