You can buy 'generic' rails, or use standard rails or adapt rails from another car if you want to adjust them fore and aft, otherwise basically it's all custom - have to make them yourself hahahah.
People have posted their racing seat installation guides in their build threads on here though, you should be able to see what other people have done to make it more easy.

You could ask ChevLX366 for some pics of his seat mounts.

I used the seat runners off XD-F falcon and cut the feet that bolt to the floor off the torana runner then welded them to the ford runners.Let us know when you work it out, as I have to do the same. I was going to just get generic rails, and fashion them off the standard rails in terms of the steel legs. Just my current thinking, could be 100% wrong.
You could ask ChevLX366 for some pics of his seat mounts.
The ford runners are nice and flat and plenty of room to drill extra holes to suit the seats.
I only had to drill 1 bolt hole on each runner.

I agree, better with fixed brackets and a series of holes for adjustment. No point in fitting runners/rails in a race car.

sorry to butt in uwe but im in the same predicament so thanks for your question .im just about to put a sparco seat in the hdt replica.. i notice that nearly every aftermarket seat i have here uses the ford type runners.would i be best to attach the seat to some torana runners or some xd ones that i have here?and i am a shortarse so the straight on the floor option is out.although having said that my helmet hits the rooflining of my 4 door when sitting on the standard height torana seat.
I was going to use torana runners but the, have a upward curve to them, I ended up using XD-F ford ones they worked spot on and easy to convert.
I also had to put spacers between the runner seat to suit my lack of hieght

When your head touches the roof with a helmet on, believe me you want the seats low.Depends a bit on your seats but that will make it particularly low. Each to their own but I wouldn't want to lower the standard Torana seat more than a couple of inches or visibility may be an issue unless you are really tall. I'm average height and if I bolted my racing seats straight to that transverse channel thing and made a bracket at the back to make them level, it would be too low. I think I want another 2-3" of height but maybe Welby's seats have that in them already

Mine just use pieces of HZ bumper bar brackets, I swear they are good for building almost anything:

(not proper racing seats but similar)

The seat brackets for the hatch came 'off the shelf' from Maximum Motorsport here in WA.
www.maximummotorsport.com.au
The cross bars they mount to are welded to the car, and mounted as low as possible to clear the helmet / roof gap and keep COG low.
I'm not a tall guy, and the sparco seats seats we use aren't tall, but we wanted as low as possible.
Best wishes
Welby

After Is2Ixhatch posted to my thread i started to build my own.......bugger!
%3Ca%20href=

I used the original runners with the front sockets.
The front sockets came to the rear but 180 degrees turned because of the concave shape of the runners.
I think to keep the original concave ones is better for tall people.

Hey, can anyone tell me if this is the right model Laser to use seat rails from? Sorry about the crap photos, couldn’t do much better with the lack of space.

I read it on here a while ago and didn’t get any more details on the model other than: “that old boxy type Ford Laser”.
Thanks for the info about XD – XF rails, they sound good for the job.
Cheers
