Edelbrock put pictures up of the car up on thier site I sent in....the guy who runs thier website says they don't really use 2 pictures of a car but liked the Torana enough to have one of the car over the engine bay shot, kinda cool I thought :D

Hi Jeff, I'd say you have already answered this, but with your brakes did you use the torana stubs or are they H series stubs (HQ/HX).

Cheers.

They are H-series stubs...not on purpose perse', just sort of how things worked out.

At the swap meet yesterday, along with picking up a few bits to send over there....I found some seats I've been sort of keeping an eye out for the car.
I have wanted something else for it, and had been looking at a few late model production type car seats (had my eye on some 2004 BMW M3 seats locally here for sale) but I had used these Scat Procar Rally seats in another car previously and liked them. They are really well made (not cheap china junk) and not overly heavy either..comfy too :) and found a pair at the swap meet yesterday !
Here is a pic just before unloading my truck....will make up some mounts to go from them to the factory Torana slider mounts (the seats came with sliders, but easier to use the Holden ones since they mount perfectly to the floor of course..)

More pics to come once I get them mounted in....will probably play with them this afternoon I reckon..

I spy some more interesting wheels in there too! haha

Seats look similar to what Dirtbag put in his brother UC/LX hybrid hatch,

Ive been looking out for some Alfa seats, they are small enough to fit in the LJ, but sporty and comfy looking :D

The only thing Ive been worried about was the internal airbags and having them retrimmed (same issue with the BMW seats I reckon, would you need to remove the airbags?)

I've got the passenger seat in a done. Went quite well :) (got to do the driver side still now)

Oh and that wheel in the picture is an old Bob Glidden or Pro Star...just a single 15" x 5" from the swap meet I got in a deal, lol..

On the Alfa seats..as long as the air bags have no power going to them you could leave them and not have any dramas with them. Just extra weight though for no reason really...and if you were going to retrim the seats anyways..I would gut the air bags out and have the trimmer just fill that area back in again.

Going to get back at it on the car..will post some pictures later.

All done :D

I just had to drill a second set of holes in the Torana tracks to suit the seats...the holes were a little closer together than the factory seats, so big deal at all. Once I had the tracks mounted I just had to sort something out to mount the factory adjustment lever too. Just welded a piece onto the one side track, tapped a hole...and presto! all done...just bolted them in after that.

Oh, and the adjust release cables were a little to short the way it all worked out, so I just used a few hog rings to extend them..

And in the car..

The little plastic covers that fit over the hinge/release on the side of the seat is missing as you can see, but I'll just get another pair from Scat..they still make/sell them :)

You know mate I bet not too many people from this forum can say that they have had the pleasure of standing on that lovely blue carpet you have there in the shed......lol

By the way you don't waste any time working on the hatch. Looking good mate.

Seats look great, seems like you get comfort and support, but they don't stick out like a sore thumb as most would

You are the only member from here so far to set foot on the hallowed blue squares of awesome. :D

And yep...once I get it in my mind how to do it, might as well get right to it I reckon !

Thanks, and yep...alot of guys here like these seats in muscle car era stuff, since they don't really look too modern, but do hold you in really well for being sorta old school looking.

How much would you charge to run up a kit for the mirror conversion :P

You can buy the kit..

http://www.amazon.co...28058045&sr=8-2

But my way was free (aside from buying the Suburban to part out..ha ha.

I can keep an eye out though for another mirror, temp sensor and the wiring plugs (you can buy the temp sensors from rockauto new too though) but they never really seem to go bad so second hand is not a bad way to go I reckon..

Nice score on the seats!

Cool to see the Edelbrock pics too. Special with the inset pic of the car aswell.

I noticed THIS 4th down on the Edelbrock list looks suspiciously like a Holden Kingswood ute! Another 'Chev' by Holden for overseas...

A couple of WB utes had come over here some years ago too..I saw them sitting around for almost a year in a storage yard...had asked whose they were or if they could be had cheap (since it looked like they had been abandoned nearly) but just out of the blue they disapeered. No idea what ever became of them ?
One was white...can't remember off hand what the other was.
