Speaking of playing the good stuff while driving...

:D

And maybe I can get a TAXI sign made up on some magnetic stickers to get on it when he's not looking :P

Love that music.

You guys will have an absolute blast driving around LA together in great aussie cars.

Should get some inquisitive looks when your cruising together. :P

I haven't been to the Long Beach swap meet in the car in years....be a good excuse to get out there in it...and the greeny :D  (always seems to be Aussies out there walking around, so sure they would get some looks from them at least)

Maybe Dan can advertise his 2 spare doors out there even :P

PS. If you are ever over here again....have to come by and join the Torrie owners group of CA. (patent pending? lol)

You bet I will. I am envious of both of you two having torries in the usa.

Heading to Texas for the F1 this year. Getting sick of work.

Little bit of a drive to Texas... (we have a member there who wants a torrie at least though!)    If you end up in Vegas again, that is only like a 4 1/2 drive at least..

And too bad I still don't have the couple of Torana's around so there was a spare for visitors.. :)

You could always bring one of your's over too you know!   , you have plenty of them after all ;)

Never thought of that. More spare cash earnings for owning a taxi.

Got to be some advantage besides car pooling and picking up and dropping of the kids at school :stirpot:

I am still well in the que and done more paperwork than I care to remember, but its more like pulling teeth. I wouldn't want to be on my last leg waiting for the painfully slow responses. I have had very good initial response from immigration but the people handling it tell me not to expect anything to happen quickly.

Well I'm guessing the red one will beat the green one :-) I have had my wee baby 6.27 litre dynoed at 255HP at the rear. Modest I know but being so light, it's so freaking awesome.

So what is the Red girl pushing Jeff?

Having a manual...... oops sorry...... stick shift ;-) must be so much fun. I cant wait to pull the T700 out of mine and manualize the crap out of it :-)

I dont have a stereo in mine yet but i have the perfect Aussie song lined up.

Can't wait to paint south CA red.......er.... and green :-)

Who cares what hp. Your driving a torrie round the streets in the usa, it doesn't get any better than that imo. That's been something that I have wanted to do since my first trip in the late 70's. Done all the viper, corvette, camaro and trans-am drives over the decades but to cruise around in a good torrie now that's right up near the top of my bucket list right next to being backstage with springsteen and then after at a party with all the victoria secret girls.  :D

I can't help it I just like looking at this picture !

No idea what power mine makes?  A dyno tune session is on the to-do list though...seems to be one of those things that don't seem to get done, ha ha.

And yep...just driving the car around is what makes it cool !   (same for having all the various cars I've had here over the years...even the VF ute I had with a 245 and 3 speed (with a speco shifter of course, lol) was still a blast to cruise around in !

Great build Jeff......have enjoyed this thread and have just read the whole thing again. Great ideas you've come up with from day one. Can I ask are you a welder or metal worker of some kind or a handy all rounder. Which ever you are you have done a great job.....well done.

Not to keen on your choice of beer though. Ha ha

Thank you !

And I am not really a welder or metal worker by trade or anything, just all arounder like you said I reckon would be a way to say it. Pretty much anything I don't mind doing, mechanical, electrical, etc, etc...just never really got into paint/panel work too much? ha ha..

And I actually wore a VB shirt to the swap meet this morning here :D

Well Captain Obvious its not like we couldn't tell you aren't a welder.

Either that or you should get the shotgun out ..... because the cockatoos are crapping all over your welds.  :stirpot:

Americans rough as guts! ..... LOL

All I can do is try my best

( Nothing has fallen off this or previous cars, so it must 'stick' at least :P )

Had a couple errands to run this morning and thought I'd take the car....it's funny, how I seem to almost forget how cool it looks (to me at least ;) ) when just parked next to the average cookie-cutter cars here...

Its hard to think this 70's car style still looks fantastic even today. The proportions just look right.

Holden really did get it right with the hatch, its one stylish but simple design.

I often wonder what people must think of this car over there. Steering on the wrong side.

"Hey mister, what the hell is it? lol

cheers

I hear that all the time, ha ha...I've had the car here for 13 years though so get a little bit used to the odd looks/double takes and questions. All part of the fun of having it though :D

out of curiosity, have you had much to do with the dakota digital gauges. Been considering making a GTR dash all digital and these have popped up.

Be kind of cool

cheers

Glenn

I used a dakota digital tach adapter to run my fuel pump controller (and tacho) but that is about it.. (I had talked to thier tech department a couple times to see if it would have done what I wanted, and they were good to deal with)

Haven't heard anything bad about them over all though.
