Brilliant, what a sight that would be cruising side by side down the freeway(s)!!

For sure !  Next time we'll have to go for a run somewhere or other in the 2 cars.  I did take his car around the block (to have a listen for an odd sound it was making) did feel strange driving a Torana with an automatic in it for a change, ha ha.

At least one has the right number of doors....... :)

I agree, 2 of them is the perfect amount. :D

Awesome photo mate

Thanks heaps....next time you are in the area, you'll have a couple of them to look at :)

You should cruise past Jay Leno's house and try to get him to import one for his garage.

How do you get by with vehicle emission checking etc? I imagine it's annual and tough in California?

What I have seen driving round the streets I don't think anyone worries about personally modified old cars. Hell anyone asks you about your emissions the US constitution says you can just pull one of your twin hip mounted six shooters and take them out. :stirpot:

I love being pulled over in the US, the cops scare the crap out of you with their hand on the unclipped holster. Drivers licence, registration and insurance YES SIR - please don't shoot I am just an ignorant Australian. LOL

Yep, first time I had a taxi in the driveway, ha ha..

No emmisions dramas...they are old enough so they are smog-check exempt..

You can do anything you want here to them....no engineer's reports, no nothing. :D   Just break out the welder (and wallet) and do what ever you can imagine/want.

(And be sure and holler Mitch if you are in the area!)

How cool to see two Aussie cars in LA. I lived way up north of you for a year ( Alaska ) all I saw from oz was a right hand drive Aussie v dub. Also spotted what I thought was a two door Gemini, the US must have sold them also can't imagine one specially imported!
Do the yanks showing interest in the Torrie?
Sorry if you've answered this question before, I do look at parts of your thread but its pretty long now.

Yep....have gotten a heap of interest in the car over the years (Had it here for 13 years..) and most people have no idea what it is, but they still reckon it is a cool looking little thing. :D

Funny you mention about the rhd vw too....years back I brought over a RHD bug too. Had an open spot in a container and I just bought one over there (I was there at the time) as a 'fill' car basically.  I sold it within a week of it getting here really easy actually...ha ha.
